I am writing to express deep concern regarding reports of a woman, Desiree Marcoux, from New Kensington, PA, who is facing felony charges of aggravated cruelty to animals, in addition to cruelty to animal charges after Pico, a 1-year-old Chihuahua, was found deceased in her apartment in July of 2024. Pico was left alone in a non-temperature-controlled environment in the summer heat with no food and water over weeks, possibly months, which resulted in him starving to death. She then disposed of his decayed body before police could collect evidence of her heinous crime.
Animal cruelty is a grave offense that inflicts unnecessary suffering on defenseless animals and violates the laws designed to protect them. This individual must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and not be allowed to own another pet under any circumstances.
By taking decisive legal action, you can help ensure that justice is served and demonstrate a strong commitment to upholding animal welfare standards.
