Target: GAP Inc. CEO, Glenn K. Murphy
Goal: Convince GAP clothing company to stop using the fur of abused rabbits.
A recent investigation revealing a fur supplier’s cruelty towards rabbits has caused several companies to pledge against using the fur. However, the popular clothing company GAP is making no changes. Fight against animal cruelty and demand that GAP stop using this inhumanely produced fur.
The investigation by PETA Asia discovered that rabbits in China are tied up while fur is ripped out of them. The rabbits scream and pain and many are left unable to move or eat. The rabbits undergo this horrific experience over and over until they are finally killed by having their throats slit.
90% of Angora fur comes from China, which means that most fur is obtained in this cruel manner. GAP Inc. which owns GAP, Old Navy, Banana Republic and Athleta continue to sell Angora fur products even after this horrific discovery.
If all companies pledge to refrain from using Angora fur, the demand for the fur will decrease which would safe several rabbits from the pain and suffering they have to endure.
Please sign the petition below to ask GAP Inc. to refrain from making and selling products made with Angora fur, to help stop the cruelty towards the animals.
Dear GAP Inc. CEO, Glenn K. Murphy,
As you know, PETA Asia recently revealed an undercover video investigation about the process in which Angora fur is obtained. The video depicts live Angora rabbits screaming in pain as the fur is being ripped out of them. Afterwards, the rabbits are seen in a state of shock, hardly able to move in their cages.
About 90% of the world’s Angora comes from China, which means that it is highly likely that the Angora used in the clothing you sell at GAP, Old Navy, Banana Republic, and Athleta is from the suffering rabbits. It is inhumane to use the fur from these abused animals.
Several of your competitor clothing companies have pledged to stop using Angora and you should do the same. Until you do, you will notice that your sales will go down as many animal-loving consumers will refuse to shop in your stores.
If all companies stop using Angora, the demand would decrease which would likely stop Chinese manufacturers from mistreating so many rabbits. Please make the right choice and pledge against using the fur.
