Commend Recently Announced World Wildlife Day

UN Endangered Act

Target: Samantha Power, United States Representative for the United Nations

Goal: Commend the United Nations for creating an annual “World Wildlife Day”

The United Nations (UN) Assembly recently announced that there will now be a day solely dedicated to recognizing the world’s wildlife. The scheduled day is March third and will be recognized annually. The Assembly has recognized the value of plants and wildlife, particularly endangered species, and what they have to offer the world. This is a very important step in recognition.

A major motivation for creating this annual appreciation day is to gain awareness for ongoing wildlife crime. The Assembly aims to ensure that the wildlife trade does not decimate any species, and that awareness of endangered species is kept in the forefront of citizens’ minds. The Assembly noted intrinsic values that wildlife have, including “ecological, genetic, social, economic, scientific, educational, cultural, recreation and aesthetic, to sustainable development and human well-being.” The hope is that all interested organizations and individuals come together to celebrate wildlife, every year, on March third.

This is a huge movement for wildlife, especially the endangered species of the world. This added attention from the UN will surely help to end illegal wildlife trade and help countless species flourish for generations to come. Commend this dedication to wildlife, and remember to celebrate World Wildlife Day every year on March third.

Dear Samantha Power,

I am writing to commend the United Nations on its decision to dedicate a day to the world’s wildlife. March third will be an annual celebration of flora and fauna, with particular attention paid to endangered species and the illegal wildlife trade. This decision is a very large and positive step toward stopping the illegal endangered species trade and ensuring that species have a chance to flourish for generations to come.

Thank you for understanding the value of wildlife, both to ecosystems and humans. A world without wildlife is a terrifying prospect, and could be the reality of future generations if we don’t change the issues now. Please consider establishing more commitments to wildlife, especially endangered species, for years to come.

Thank you for all that you do for the world’s wildlife.
