Target: Robert Marcovitch, CEO of Coleman Company, Inc.
Goal: Commend Coleman Company for banning down from its merchandise.
Coleman Company, Inc. has recently become the first outdoor retailer to end its use of down in products and begin selling merchandise made with only synthetic, cruelty-free materials.
Down is typically obtained from imprisoned birds that have been unnaturally fattened for foie gras production. Prior to these birds’ untimely and often violent deaths, their feathers are ripped from their bodies and are then used as insulation for sleeping bags and winter jackets. By banning down, the Coleman Company is taking a stand against animal cruelty and supporting a community that favors empathy and sustainability instead of torture and murder.
Thank the Coleman Company for doing its part to support the animal rights movement by signing the petition below.
Dear Coleman Company, Inc. CEO Robert Marcovitch,
The unnecessary abuse that live ducks and geese experience as they are held down and their feathers are ripped from their bodies is barbaric and cruel. By banning the use of down in Coleman Company’s merchandise and pledging to use only synthetic materials, you are helping put an end to this horrendous treatment and are raising awareness for a compassionate, cruelty-free lifestyle.
As a company that places a high value on respecting the outdoors, your customers will be incredibly supportive of your decision to ban the use of down. After all, modern synthetic materials offer all of the same consumer benefits as down, including being easy to clean and incredibly insulating, without the inhumane harvesting tactics.
Thank you for doing your part to support a cruelty-free lifestyle by banning down and using only synthetic materials in all of the Coleman Company’s products. Please continue to take a stand against animal cruelty by encouraging the continued sale of animal-friendly merchandise.
