Target: Charlie Beck, Los Angeles Police Department Chief of Police
Goal: Thank the police department for its dedication to the well-being of animals
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) recently announced its goal of being known as “The City of Compassion.” The police department believes that its motto of “to protect and serve” should apply to humans and animals alike. This is an important step for the iconic city of Los Angeles: residents now have more reason to trust in the protection and dedication of the LAPD.
The LAPD has been on the lookout for animals in need. Its recent services for animals include saving a cat that was running through traffic, rescuing an abused donkey and returning a kidnapped dog to its rightful owners. The LAPD Chief of Police understands that a main priority for any police station should be to gain the trust of its citizens. A love for animals is a feeling that many people share: a police station that publicly dedicates itself to protecting and serving animals is on the right track to gain trust and support from the community it serves.
While the LAPD may not be a perfect operation, the team of police officers is actively trying to be more present for their community. All of the police department’s efforts will be documented annually in a calendar created by Voice for Animals, a local organization dedicated to financially supporting animals in need. The LAPD is organizing to watch out for the future of animals; what will be its next victory? Is there a team-wide lifestyle change to vegetarianism on the horizon? One can hope. For now, the LAPD is on the right track.
Dear Chief of Police Charlie Beck,
The LAPD recently made headlines with its announcement that it will prioritize the safety and security of the city’s animals. This enhanced dedication will help secure a promising future for people, as well as the animals that they love. Thank you for understanding that a love for animals unites thousands, and for fostering this initiative.
The LAPD vows to be known as “The City of Compassion.” This is an attainable goal for your organization because it is beginning to focus on all aspects of compassion, which includes a love for animals. A firefighting team in Texas adopted veganism; will the LAPD be the next city service team that adopts this level of health and compassion?
The country is watching, and you are on the right track. Thank you.
