Target: Peter Dinklage, Actor
Goal: Applaud Peter Dinklage for promoting cruelty-free cosmetics
Golden Globe and Emmy Award winning actor Peter Dinklage, best known for playing the scheming Tyrion Lannister on HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” is speaking out against the cruel and unnecessary practice of testing cosmetics on animals. Dinklage, a longtime vegetarian and an Ambassador for Cruelty Free International, is using his celebrity status to better the lives of animals.
Peter Dinklage joined Cruelty Free International earlier this year in order to promote an end to cosmetic testing on animals. According to Cruelty Free International, “Animal tests involve rabbits, guinea pigs, mice and rats who can be injected, gassed, force-fed and killed for cosmetics.” Many of these test are not only cruel, but they are also unnecessary as we already have ample information regarding the safety of cosmetics. These types of tests were banned in Europe in March of this year and with the help of Dinklage and his fellow Ambassadors for Cruelty Free International, Ricky Gervais, Paul McCartney, and Norman Reedus, we may soon have a similar ban in the United States.
Dinklage is hoping that many people will use their 2014 New Year’s Resolutions as an opportunity to better the lives of animals. In a statement on Crueltyfreeinternational.org, Dinklage states, “I ask that if you are going to make resolutions this year, please make two very important ones. One, to shop for cruelty-free products which feature the Leaping Bunny logo and two, join me and support the campaign to achieve a global ban on cosmetics testing on animals.”
Peter Dinklage has also promoted animal welfare by teaming up with PETA to provide a Vegetarian Testimonial. Please take a moment to thank Peter Dinklage for using his fame to promote animal welfare.
Dear Peter Dinklage,
I was pleased to learn that you accepted a position as an Ambassador for Cruelty Free International this year. Your voice as a celebrity will help to put an end to cosmetic testing on animals once and for all.
You have been a champion for animals throughout 2013 and you are starting 2014 off right, by encouraging people to go cruelty-free in the new year. I hope that you will encourage other celebrities, as well as your “Game of Thrones” co-stars, to also speak out against cosmetic testing on animals.
Thank you for raising awareness to animal testing and promoting a vegetarian lifestyle by collaborating with Cruelty Free International and PETA.
