Target: Governor Hamza Erkal and Mayor Ali Murat of Siverek, Turkey
Goal: Thank the governor and mayor of Siverek for rescuing five donkeys from the harsh winter conditions of Siverek, Turkey
Five abandoned donkeys were found practically frozen in Karlik, a small village in Siverek, Turkey. The donkeys were covered in ice from top to bottom and only survived by huddling together for warmth. If it weren’t for a group of caring Turkish villagers, these donkeys would surely have frozen to death. Thank these village saviors for giving the donkeys another chance at life.
When they were found, the five donkeys stood so still and were so closely clustered together that they appeared frozen to each other. Videos and pictures have been released of the donkeys looking as though they are encrusted in snow with icicles hanging off of their fur. Luckily, the news reports caught the attention of Siverk governor Hamza Erkal and Mayor Ali Murat Bucak who sent in a crew of villagers to help with the rescue.
The first people on the scene were a group of villagers who took the donkeys to a nearby stable to find shelter. After that, the villagers brought them to a vet to be taken care of. Amazingly, the donkeys have made a full recovery and are now in good shape. The villagers were also told to keep an eye out for other abandoned animals that might also be suffering from the cold conditions.
Please sign this petition to thank the Turkey government and villagers for helping the donkeys find shelter.
