End Capture of Baboons for Cruel Experiments

Target: Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta

Goal: Stop the capture of baboons in Kenya for cruel research experiments

Baboons are very smart and social animals that belong in the wild. Unfortunately in Kenya, wild baboons are snatched out of their natural habitats, crammed into tiny cages, and sent hours away to research facilities. Investigations have revealed the baboons being captured and suffering from the captivity. They are sent to the Institute of Primate Research where they are subjected to inhumane conditions. This whole ordeal is incredibly cruel and unjust. Sign the petition below to call on the President of Kenya to stop the brutal capture and use of wild baboons for study and research.

At the Institute of Primate Research, baboons are subjected to studies that include aggressive and fatal experiments. One factor that is adding to the problem is that researchers from other countries are coming to Kenya to use these primate facilities to conduct experiments of their own. One of the tests that the researchers do involves the brain of the baboon. They drill into the baboon’s skull and take a piece of its brain to study. Shortly after, they kill the animal.

The President of Kenya needs to help these animals and take a stand to end the cruelty. There should be a ban or law against conducting invasive research on bamboos.

Dear President Uhuru Kenyatta,

There has been very cruel and disturbing research done by the scientists and researchers at the Institute of Primate Research in Kenya. The researchers capture wild baboons, put them in small cages, and take them to their primate research facilities. While there, the baboons are subjected to crazy and bizarre experiments. One experiment has the researcher putting the baboon under anesthetics and cutting away a piece of its skull in order to take a piece of the animal’s brain out. The researchers examines the brain and later kill the baboons once they are finish.

This type of research is not only cruel but unnecessary. I am sure there are less invasive ways to do research on primates that does not include cutting open their skulls while they are still alive. The tests seem extremely unusual and outdated. With your help, we can stop the Institute of Primate Research from conducting these experiments and implement laws to stop the cruel treatment of wild baboons.
