Target: West Coast Farm, Okfuskee County, Oklahoma
Goal: Demand the West Coast pig farm end its unnecessarily vicious treatment of its animals
Recently, an undercover investigator spent three weeks at the West Coast Farm in Oklahoma. While there, the investigator discovered the horrendously cruel and unnecessary treatment these pigs were receiving and filmed a video to show the world. Condemn this farm for its inhumane treatment and urge them to change its practices immediately.
The investigator, who works for Mercy for Animals, documented a horrifying variety of cruel practices these animals were enduring before being slaughtered. They included injured piglets prematurely tossed and abandoned into “dead” piles; piglets getting their tails chopped off and testicles roughly pulled from their bodies without any painkiller; beating, kicking, punching, and general cruelty for no reason; pigs slammed headfirst to the ground; and pigs having bowling balls launched at their heads.
The biggest question right now is why is this disgusting behavior allowed to continue. With a few relatively minor changes, practices like these could disappear forever. Simply because there are people willing to pay for the meat of a pig does not mean that animal must suffer so greatly during its life.
Demand that the West Coast Farm of Oklahoma immediately alter their usual treatment of these pigs. No animal deserves such abuse, especially one already destined for slaughter. This type of unnecessary cruelty is disgusting and should never be allowed to happen.
Dear West Coast Farm,
I recently heard about the undercover investigator that infiltrated your staff. While there, the investigator witnessed incredible and unnecessary cruelties in the treatment of the pigs. Please end this practice immediately.
The evidence released by the investigator shows pigs being beaten, kicked, slammed to the ground, and more. None of these actions are remotely necessary and as these animals are already destined for death, it seems incredibly cruel to make their short lives so miserable.
Change the way animals are treated at your farm. Animal abuse is never okay in any situation and especially in the case of the farm when it has nothing to do with prepping the pigs for slaughter. I look forward to hearing about the new, humane practices to be implemented among the staff members.
