Target: The U.S. Navy
Goal: Tell the Navy to stop using high frequency sonar tests that deafen marine life and harm our environment.
The United States Navy has disclosed their use of high frequency underwater sounds for testing in Hawaii, California, and the Gulf of Mexico. Conducting the sonar tests is affecting our marine mammals in a devastating way, and will unintentionally hurt the marine mammals.
High frequency sounds used for sonar tests will cause the deafness in more than 15,00 whales and dolphins, and can potentially kill close to 2,000 over the next couple of years. These underwater mammals depend on sound to live and move through the ocean. The Navy is not disclosing the fact that their solar tests are hurting the animals, but they are warning the public that there is a potential risk. There is clearly a direct link between the solar high frequency sounds and the death rate among the marine mammals.
Please help the innocent whales and dolphins, and all other marine mammals. Such testing is not necessary and can be conducted in a more environmentally conscious way. These animals do not deserve to be hurt in such large masses.
Dear U.S. Navy,
We appreciate all you do for our country. Thank you for taking every measure into account in order to keep our nation safe. Unfortunately, one of the sonar frequency sound tests that the Navy performs is hurting some of our most beloved marine mammals. In particular, whales and dolphins are being affected by the testings that are being performed underwater. Statistics shows that about 15,ooo whales and dolphins are losing their hearing and around 2,000 are going to die within the next 5 years. Consider these animals before you continue conducting the sonar tests. They are becoming deaf by the thousands and are unable to function in the ocean because of it.
There have to be alternative and environmentally safer ways of conducting these types of tests. Although they are helping you locate enemies and natural disasters, they are also killing our endangered animals. Please help whales and dolphins and all of the other marine mammals. Tests of this nature are not necessary and can be done in a more environmentally friendly way.
