Target: South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham
Goal: Stop senators from making decisions about abortion rights
South Carolina Republican Senator Lindsey Graham recently called on the Senate to propose a bill prohibiting abortions after 20 weeks of gestation – excepting only rape victims and life-threatening pregnancies. The bill in question, named the “Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act,” would be fully endorsed and promoted by Graham. He spoke to the Anti-Abortion community addressing how he wants to begin voting on this issue starting in 2014. Recently Senator Graham has made very public announcements about his support for pro-life advocates.
State leaders should not be in charge of when and how a woman approaches abortion. Women should be able to make their own decisions about their own reproductive systems. Criminalizing abortions will not stop women from seeking them out, but increase demand for unsafe procedures of this kind. Giving women access to professional procedures will eliminate the harms and injuries caused by illegal procedures of abortions.
Please sign this bill and make politicians like Senator Lindsey Graham understand that they have no right to tell a woman how to take care of her body.
Dear North Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham,
Abortion is a very personal topic that should be kept between a woman and her health physician. Please do not make it more difficult by take that resource away from them. You should not be making the decisions for women who are already going through enough stress and pain as it is. I understand that you are entitled to your own opinions and beliefs, but you should not be pushing that belief onto the lives of the women who are personally going through this.
The majority of abortions actually do occur before the 20-week gestation period, therefore if it happens after that, then there probably is a good reason why. This is often due to medical complications that are out of the woman’s control. Please don’t take that away from the women who need the procedure the most. Women should be allowed to make their own decisions and have the option to choose what is ultimately right for them. Please do not ignore the public’s opinions. Give women the rights to their own bodies.
