Convince Crack-Smoking Mayor to Resign

Mayor Rob Ford speaks to media after his meeting with Premier Dalton McGuinty , Police Chief Bill Bl

Target: Toronto Mayor Rob Ford

Goal: Force Rob Ford to resign as Mayor of Toronto after admitting to smoking crack cocaine while in office.

Toronto Mayor Rob Ford recently admitted to smoking crack cocaine within this past year. This comes after a history of inappropriate behavior and actions.

Rob Ford has been known to make drunk public appearances, and has even admitted to often drinking too much in the past. Notable occurrences include Ford being kicked out of a Toronto Maple Leafs game for being drunk and belligerent, groping a female politician at a function, and being forced out of a high school football coaching job for a violent altercation with a player.

In his most recent admission, Ford said when being questioned “Yes, I have smoked crack cocaine. But no, do I, am I an addict? No. Have I tried it? Probably in one of my drunken stupors, probably approximately about a year ago.” He has apologized for his actions but does not plan to resign.

It is a shame that such an unprofessional person is running a city as respectable as Toronto. If this had been his first incident it could be forgiven, but with such a scandalous history Ford should at this point feel it is necessary to resign. Somebody who is much more qualified should be mayor of the city of Totonto.

Please sign the petition below to insist that Rob Ford resign from his position as Mayor of Toronto, and allow the position to be filled by somebody more responsible and deserving.

Dear Rob Ford,

Your recent admission to smoking crack cocaine while holding your position as Mayor of Toronto was shameful and disappointing. The people of a city as respectable as Toronto do not deserve to have a leader who smokes crack during a “drunken stooper”.

This may not have been a huge issue had there not been several other issues in the past. There have been several other occasions when you have been drunk and belligerent or have performed inappropriately.

At this point it would be the best move for you to resign as the Mayor of Toronto. Being the mayor is a full time responsibility that cannot have interference from issues regarding drugs or alcohol. The people of Toronto would be more comfortable with a more focused and responsible leader, and it would be beneficial if you made room for this new leader to take over.
