Prosecute Members of Rape Club

Target: West Auckland Detective Inspector Bruce Scott

Goal: Prosecute gang of teens who rape underage girls and then shame them on social networks.

A group of teen predators in West Auckland, New Zealand have been going around picking up underage girls, getting them drunk, and gang raping them for over two years. They call themselves the “Roast Busters” and document their exploits on social media platforms like Facebook. The boys are the privileged sons of powerful people, such as law enforcement officers and The Matrix actor Anthony Ray Parker, and have faced zero repercussions for their heinous actions. In fact, they are openly proud of their predatory crimes and brag about it on their Facebook page.

The implications of a group like this being allowed to run amuck without any legal consequences goes beyond the boys themselves and their victims. It sustains a culture in which rape is excused and even supported. A Roast Busters Appreciation Page on Facebook has comments on it such as “Appreciating the roast busters, putting b*****s in their place since ages ago. Outing the sluts giving them the treatment they deserve. Any sluts keen to get put on the spit or ganged feel free to comment everyone loves a good slut.” There are even young friends of the group who defend their actions, saying, “of course it wasn’t okay! I know that! But the girls that did it gave them consent and even went back for more! The girls always agreed to it.” Under New Zealand law, it is illegal for anyone intoxicated or under the age of sixteen to consent to sex, and yet the boys openly admit to forcing sex on both minors and intoxicated persons.

West Auckland Detective Inspector Bruce Scott has been quoted excusing his department’s deplorable lack of action in this situation, despite video confessions and images posted to Facebook: “None of the girls have been brave enough to make formal statements to us so we can take that to a prosecution stage.” Inspector Scott has decided to blame the victims for his own incompetence. Please sign this petition to demand legal action be taken against this gang of sexual predators.

Dear Detective Inspector Bruce Scott,

It has recently come to light that a group of young men under your investigative authority have been publicly posting photos and braggadocio on social media sites about their calculated and systematic rape of underage, intoxicated girls. Despite a Facebook page full of video and written confessionals, along with other evidence, you have done nothing to build a case against these young men and even go so far as to blame your own incompetence on the victims of these crimes, complaining that they just weren’t “brave enough” to come forward. In the type of victim-blaming climate that you apparently foster in West Auckland, I do not blame them one bit for being reluctant to speak.

One of the young predators posted to social media that “[they] take what [they] do seriously – some of you think this is a joke, it’s not.” We demand that you take these teen predators and their victims seriously, and prosecute them for their heinous crimes.

If this is true, immediate action should be taken against the criminals. This is perversion and no civil society can permit such actions.

  2. Lauren Graham Thank you so much for having the courage to come forward it is very much appreciated. I hope those cowards that did this to you were rightfully punished & the matter was not swept under the rug like in New Zealand.
    Take care Coreen

  3. Chris Bordeman says:

I hope one or all of the girls come forward and they are prosecuted for these crimes.

But if they don’t, please don’t blame the police, who can’t do much more unless there is an actual provable victim.
