Praise Two Boys’ Efforts to Save Endangered Tigers

Target: Adarsh and Shubham from New Delhi

Goal: Commend two young boys for raising awareness and money for endangered tigers

Two schoolboys from New Delhi are doing their part to conserve Bengal tigers, one of India’s national animals. Adarsh and Shubham, last names unknown, have devoted their time after school to raise awareness about the endangered creatures and raise funds for their conservation.

The two ten-year old friends, after watching a television commercial, became enchanted by the majestic creatures and wanted to ensure that they would be around for generations to come. They began by educating their friends, teachers, and parents about the critical state of Bengal tigers in India. With help from Shubham’s older cousin, a website was built containing information about the species.

Now, the sixth grade pair are going door-to-door soliciting donations for a dotcom domain so that the site can be viewed by a worldwide audience. When the site is fully built, Google has agreed to donate 7 rupees per click, to be passed on to the national parks of India for tiger conservation.

The pair also sat down to write letters to prominent national parks, as well as the President of India, explaining what they are doing and how they could use help. They have pledged an hour per day after their homework to work on the website and continue to raise awareness locally.

Through vigorous conservation efforts by various organizations, the endangered Bengal tiger population in India has risen by 20% over the past seven years. From 1,114 in 2006 to 1,706 in 2011, the creatures have benefited greatly from the work of projects focused on protecting them. Your signature will commend the two young boys for their ambitious and resolute conservation project.

Dear Adarsh and Shubham,

You have taken time out of your personal lives to help save endangered Bengal tigers by educating friends and neighbors, as well as gathering funds for conservation. With the help of a cousin, you have built a website with information about the creatures, and are currently raising money for a dotcom domain host in order to reach a larger audience. Once this website is up, Google will donate 7 rupees per click to the national parks of India’s conservation efforts.

Your efforts are truly an inspiration to children as well as adults, and a great help to tigers in India. Thank you for your time and work to raise funds and awareness for endangered Bengal tigers. We, the undersigned, support your efforts and wish you the best of luck with this and future endeavors.
