Target: North Las Vegas Fire Department
Goal: Thank the North Las Vegas Fire Department for saving the lives of puppies found in burning building.
Rescue workers with the North Las Vegas Fire Department recently revived two unconscious puppies after they were found inside a burning building. Both puppies survived and suffered no permanent harm. These firefighters went beyond the call of duty, and beyond what many others would have done, and for that they deserve our gratitude.
Neighbors reported the fire, and by the time the first responders arrived the building had already been completely enveloped in flames. During a search of the home, firefighters found the two puppies unconscious on the floor and rushed them outside, performing CPR and providing oxygen masks until they were completely resuscitated. By the time the fire was under control, the puppies were already running around and playing.
The heroic efforts of the North Las Vegas Fire Department garnered the attention of animal rights groups like People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), who presented them with a Compassionate Fire Department Award. The award is certainly well deserved. Poor treatment of animals among police and fire departments consistently makes headlines throughout the country. Under different circumstances, it is likely these puppies would have been euthanized or even left to die.
These conscientious firefighters, however, not only removed the puppies from the burning building, but also gave them CPR for several minutes. Acts of kindness toward animals do not get much better than this. Please take a moment to sign the petition below and thank the North Las Vegas Fire Department for making sure that all lives are protected and treated equally.
Dear Fire Chief Jeffrey Buchanan,
The North Las Vegas Fire Department was recently responsible for the heroic rescue of two small puppies trapped in a burning building. The dogs were given CPR and oxygen until they were completely resuscitated. As a result of this incredible effort, you were the well-deserved recipient of a Compassionate Fire Department Award from PETA.
Thank you for serving as an example to other rescue teams throughout the country, and for showing that all lives should be treated with equal importance. Those who serve in your fire department truly are heroes.
