Commend Refinery for Turning Farm Waste into Bioethanol

Plants for Biofuel

Target: Beta Renewables and Novozymes

Goal: Commend refinery for turning farm waste into bioethanol.

A refinery is opening in northern Italy which is the first of its kind to turn farm waste into bioethanol. The facility was a collaborative effort by Beta Renewables and Novozymes, and when the facility is at its peak it will be produce 75 million liters of bioethanol annually for the European market.

This refinery takes agricultural waste like wheat or rice straw, and Arundo donax (also known as giant cane), and will convert the plant material into fuel. This refinery is pivotal for going green and preserving the planet. The fuel has low emissions, and gives waste a purpose. With the opening of this refinery, many are hoping that more of its kind will be opened and commercialized. The refinery itself is also green; it fuels an attached power plant, producing electricity, and any excess energy will be sold to the local power grid. Currently the refinery claims it has the most advanced bioethanol platforms, and many investors are vying for the technology.

If massively commercialized, refineries such as the one opening in Italy could provide million of jobs, create economic growth, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Those who support this technology are urging policy makers to focus their efforts on advanced biofuels. Italy has received the message that our planet is suffering, and made an announcement that they will promote the creation of bio-refineries. Sign this petition and commend the two collaborating companies for caring about the planet and making cleaner ethanol.

Dear Beta Renewables and Novozymes,

First I would like to congratulate you for the opening of the world’s first bioethanol refinery. By converting agricultural waste into biofuel, the planet will be made cleaner, and the low fuel emissions will help reduce greenhouse gases. I hope that your refinery will experience great success, and I also hope that other refineries will open with the same objective of turning agricultural waste into fuel. Your companies made a wise decision by going green, and I wish more companies would keep the current state of the planet’s condition in mind. I am grateful that the refinery itself is also utilizing green technology to run the plant.

Your companies are definitely pioneers into this venture of cleaning up the planet. Again, I wish you the best of luck and I hope that other companies will follow in your footsteps.
