Urge Night Club to Cancel Cruel Shark Exhibit

shark

Target: AFB Investments

Goal: Cancel night club exhibit that would subject sharks to damaging and inhumane vibrations.

Night clubs are a cruel, inappropriate habitat for animals. AFB Investments plans to open a night club in Michigan that would have sharks confined in a tank, while club goers would watch the captive animals as they party. This exhibition is cruel, because the vibrations and large crowds will psychologically torture these captive sharks. This is a ridiculous exhibit that furthers an ideology that animals are merely property for humans to exploit. The night club must cancel the exhibit.

Like most night clubs, Sabrage Nightclub will likely have bright, flashing lights and piercing music that sends off echoing vibrations. Humans expect such over stimulus when they go into a club. Sharks, however, are not meant to exist in such environments.

Sharks’ brain to body mass ratios are similar to mammals. Further, sharks exhibit exceptional intelligence, and several scientific studies demonstrate that sharks have strong memory. Many studies also show that sharks are teachable. Sharks are notoriously shy and are likely psychologically damaged by loud vibrations.

Sign the petition below to demand that AFB Investments remove the night club exhibit that will expose sharks to an inhumane environment.

PETITION LETTER

Dear AFB Investments:

The new nightclub Sabrage, is planning to exhibit sharks in the midst of club goers.  This will subject the share to psychological torture with bright lights and deafening vibrations.  This exhibition is pointless and unacceptable.

Surely, your organization can craft another way to entertain invitees besides subjecting animals to a cruel and unusual environment.  We demand that you cancel the shark exhibit.

Sincerely,

  1. I’m just worried with petitions like this is that once they heed to petitions like this and decide to cancel the cruel shark exhibit, what happens to the sharks then? It should also state in the petition that the animals must be SAFELY SHIPPED to an animal sanctuary OR BACK TO THE WILD. Or else, once they cancel the shark exhibit, they’ll probably just kill off the sharks or sell them to the Chinese market for shark fin soup.
