Target: U.S. Congress
Goal: Pass a law to protect animals from experimentation.
Companies subject animals to cruel experiments: experimenters insert liquids into animals’ eyes, burn their skin, and injure animals to obtain scientific results. After this torture, the animals are usually killed. The U.S. Congress has an opportunity to pass a law protecting animals from dealers who sell them to laboratories. Urge lawmakers to finally take a step to protect animals from experimentation.
“Class B Dealers” acquire animals from random sources that include responding to “free to good home ads,” or theft. Then dealers sell the animals to laboratories for experimentation. The Pet Safety and Protection Act would make it illegal for these dealers to operate. Specifically, the bill will ban any sale of random source dogs or cats to laboratories, including stray animals, and remove many financial incentives connected with dealing animals to laboratories.
This bill is a step in the right to direction towards banning animal testing forever. Sign the petition below and call on your representative to show support for this step to protect animals from cruel testing.
Dear U.S. Congress:
The Pet Safety and Protection Act is a step in the right direction of protecting animals from cruel testing practices. Animal experimentation is disgusting and outdated. Please take action to protect helpless animals from senseless pain, and support this bill.
This act would discourage dealers from selling animals to laboratories. Many of the stray animals that are sold to laboratories are former family pets, and all the animals are creatures with feelings. These animals experience painful torture in laboratories. This practice must stop.
Please use your power that the people have given to you through the democratic process to pass this law, and discourage dealers from selling animals to testing facilities. This would set a strong precedent for more regulation to discourage animal testing.
