Don’t Return Severely Neglected Dog to Owner

Target: Michael D. Miller, Upshur County Animal Control Officer

Goal: Do not return dog back to the previous owners who starved and neglected her.

A dog, now nicknamed China, was found emaciated with a severe skin infection, overgrown toenails, ear and dental infections.  Photographs demonstrate that rescuers could see every bone her body.  She looked like she was near death. Authorities, however, are considering returning China to her previous owners.  Considering that most animal abusers do not stop abusing their pets, it is important that China finds a new home without severe neglect.  She deserves a second chance at life.

According to PETA, The dog had been missing for six days when the group rescued her.  However, China was so emaciated and neglected that her  time on the street could not have caused her horrendous condition and the obvious long-term neglect. Further, photographs have documented China’s recovery since she has lived with the rescue group.  In just a week, China is beginning to look like a healthy dog.  It is clear from the photographs that had she been  fed, she would not have been as starved and neglected as when the rescue group found her.

West Virginia law requires that pet owners provide pets with adequate food and veterinary care.  Officials need to launch a criminal investigation into China’s previous treatment and secure her future safety.  China deserves another chance at life.

By signing the petition below you  demand that Upshur County officials in West Virginia take all necessary steps to secure China’s safety including not returning her to her former owners.

PETITION LETTER

Dear Mr. Miller,

A dog, now nicknamed China, was found emaciated with a severe skin infection, overgrown toenails, ear and dental infections.  Photographs demonstrate that rescuers could see every bone her body.  She looked like she was near death. Authorities, however, are considering returning China to her previous owners.  Considering that most animal abusers do not stop abusing their pets,  it is imperative that China find a new home without severe neglect.

West Virginia law requires that pet owners provide pets with adequate food and veterinary care.  Officials need to launch a criminal investigation into China’s previous treatment and secure her future safety.  China deserves justice and another chance at life. We urge you, do not return China to the people that caused her so much pain and suffering.  Please secure her safety.

Please stop it , don’t neglected dogs alive, dogs is human best friend , they are beautiful and intelligent, end and stop this cruel and inhumane ways for dogs , they also have right and feeling , give love and peace to the world , don’t let more bloody and pain to all dogs and cats , and all the other animals . Thank you

  2. I wonder if it may be best to return the dog under strict conditions and supervision, like bring it to a shelter once a week for a health check. Otherwise, won’t the person just get another dog and it could all happen again without anyone knowing.

  3. Jill Mortimer says:

Please do everything possible to get this dog a new, fabulous home, AND ENSURE the previous owners are prohibited from owning any animals.

  4. Please find this angel a safe and loving new home. The former owner should be prohibited from owning another animal, and tagged as an animal abuser. Also, they should be fined for animal cruelty.
