Target: New Jersey couple Florence Pollard and Brian L. Craig
Goal: Condemn abusive parents for chaining child to radiator
A 10-year New Jersey old boy recently ran away from home, saying that his family made him sleep on the floor chained in his mother’s bedroom and didn’t feed him. When the neighbor that found him heard this, he called the police, who found metal chains on the radiator pipe in the bedroom. The boy told police that his hands were also occasionally tied with zip ties.
“To treat a child this way is inhuman,” said Sgt. Janell Simpson, supervisor of the CCPD Special Victims Unit, in a release. “He could have been seriously injured or died had this continued, so to get this child and his brothers and sisters out of that environment was critical. We will continue the investigation to determine if there have been other abuses.”
Florence Pollard and her boyfriend, Brian L. Craig were arrested and charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, 2nd degree and Criminal Restraint, 3rd degree. Pollard was remanded to the county jail on bail of $50,000 cash or bond. Craig was remanded to the county jail on bail of $50,000 cash.
Police say the boy and his five siblings, two sisters and three brothers ranging in age from 11 to 7 months, were taken into custody by the NJ Division of Child Protection and Permanency. Alamo said, “You just don’t think anyone would do that to their own child. Feels good to know somebody is somewhere where he is going to be safe now.”
These “parents” are not fit to be parents and should lose custody of all of their children. Condemn them for treating a child in this inhumane manor.
Dear Ms. Pollard and Mr. Craig,
To treat a child in the way that you have treated your 10-year old son is despicable. The two of you are unfit parents and should never have custody of your child again. Chaining a child to the radiator is not normal punishment, it is abuse.
To treat a child so badly that he begs not to go home is condemnable. Thankfully all your children are in a better place where you can no longer abuse them.
