Commend Clinic Staff for Attempting to Save Severely Abused Kitten

Target: Management of PetLuv clinic and employee Tiffany Sroka

Goal: Commend the people who tried everything they could to save the life of Dexter, a severely abused kitten.

Two kittens were beaten with a metal baseball bat and thrown into a trash can, left for dead, by a woman and her two boys. A young boy who witnessed this horrific incident rescued one of the kittens; the other died on the scene. The one survivor was taken in to PetLuv clinic in Brooksville, Florida. The management attempted to rehabilitate the kitten, and one staff member took the kitten, which they affectionately named Dexter, to her home every night to keep watch over him. Dexter did not make it; however, these people are heroes for dedicating themselves to Dexter’s recuperation.

The staff at PetLuv clinic went beyond their requirements in order to help Dexter have a chance at survival. Dexter was experiencing a series of seizures so the staff gave him medication to help control them. They dedicated time and donated expensive resources to help Dexter’s chances of survival. One of the workers, Tiffany Sroka, took Dexter to her home every night to watch him, and then back to the clinic every morning for treatment. She created a Facebook page for Dexter and provided his 3,000 followers updates, pictures and videos. Tiffany and her family fell in love with Dexter and planned on adopting him as a permanent member of their family.

Dexter was showing signs of improvement, but unfortunately a severe series of seizures led the staff to euthanize him. They commented that Dexter was in so much pain and had stopped recovering. The comfort and attention provided for Dexter was not required, yet these wonderful people gave him all of the emotional and medical attention they had. By highlighting the good deeds of individuals that help animals, we encourage others to foster positive and compassionate interaction with animals, especially animals in need. Dexter’s story from the perspective of those who loved him can be found here: Tell PetLuv clinic and Tiffany Sroka that you appreciate their love and dedication to Dexter.

Dear PetLuv Clinic,

Not long ago your team fostered a lovely kitten by the name of Dexter. He and his littermate were severely beaten by a woman and her children and then left for dead. This was a horrific occurrence; it shows a terrible side of human nature that many cringe to think about. Your team, however, is a wonderful example of the compassionate and selfless side of people. Your team’s dedication to this kitten has not gone unnoticed.

Your team donated expensive resources, and many hours of their time, in order to save Dexter’s life. One woman in particular, Tiffany Sroka, stands out as a hero for Dexter. She took him home with her every night so she could watch him, and so he could have a safe and comfortable place to sleep. She even created and updated a Facebook profile for all of the people following Dexter’s inspiring climb back to health. Tiffany is an incredible asset to your staff, and was a beacon of light for young Dexter.

Dexter unfortunately did not make it. Your team did everything they could to save him. All of the time and resources donated were not required, but they gave Dexter a fighting chance. Your team is greatly appreciated. They are a very positive influence, and inspire compassion and positive interactions with animals. I commend you, and thank you.
