Target: Ambassador for the Philippines in London
Goal: Enforce anti horse fighting laws and enact harsher punishments on all involved
Despite current legislation that outlaws the cruel custom of horse fighting in the Southern Philippines, thousands of horses continue to suffer and die for the heinous entertainment of barbaric humans. Please urge the Ambassador for the Philippines in London to enact harsher punishment for those who violate this law or participate in horse fighting in any way.
Horse fighting is a deadly bloodsport that still exists in the Southern Philippines due to poor lack of enforcement. This blood sport involves pinning two stallions against each other in the presence of a mare in heat. The animals are instigated to fight ruthlessly until one of them becomes too weak to continue. These horses suffer heinous injuries, many of them dying during the fight or shortly thereafter. Despite the laws against this cruelty, horse fighting continues to be a bloody spectator sport in which many people gather to gamble their money on the horses. Local businesses also get involved giving away prizes to winners and news stations even provide television coverage of the bloody battles. With such poor enforcement of laws, these animals continue to suffer for the disgusting recreation of humans.
Please urge the Ambassador for the Philippines in London to enact stronger enforcement of these animal protection laws and punish not only those who instigate the horse fights, but also those local businesses and horse fight spectators who are also involved with animal cruelty.
Dear Ambassador for the Philippines in London,
I was horrified to learn that horse fighting still blatantly occurs in the Southern Philippines despite animal cruelty laws forbidding the barbaric custom. Thousands of horses continue to suffer due to lack of enforcement of these laws. Please enact harsher punishment for all involved in this bloodsport and work to end this heinous cruelty immediately.
The bloody spectator sport of horse fighting still continues to proliferate in the Southern Philippines despite laws preventing this outright torture of innocent creatures. During a horse fight, two stallions are instigated to fight one another over a mare that is in season for breeding. These mares become very competitive and aggressive, inflicting severe, deadly wounds on one another using their teeth and hooves. Many horse die during battle or shortly thereafter. This illegal sport continues to thrive due to lack of law enforcement. Several businesses offer prizes to winners and television stations are allowed to broadcast these criminal events.
This illegal bloodsport must end. Please provide stronger enforcement of these laws and punish all involved in horse fighting; the spectators, businesses, and news station are all equally guilty of animal cruelty.
