Applaud Hillary Clinton for Working to End Elephant Poaching in Africa

Target: Hillary Clinton

Goal: Commend Hillary Clinton for combating the slaughtering of elephants in Africa

The large numbers of elephants being poached in Africa is a serious problem for the entire world. African elephants are facing the threat of extinction and something needs to be done. The demand for ivory has been increasing in many different Asian countries, and the elephants in Africa are the supply for that ivory. They are being killed to meet the demand for ivory. Recently, President Obama issued an executive order to protect the African elephants. Now Hillary Clinton has joined the fight.

Hillary Clinton met with different environmental and animal groups recently to see what she can do to help the poaching crisis in Africa. She plans to get more world leaders to join the cause. She is going to use her political connections from her former job as Secretary of State to get other powerful people involved to stop the illegal acts.

The crisis is getting worse and worse. It is said that around 30,000 elephants were poached in 2012. The African forest elephant is the type of elephant that is targeted the most by poachers. About 75 percent of the elephants have been illegally killed during the past couple decades.

If something is not done soon about the illegal poaching of African elephants, many different kinds will become extinct. Applaud Hillary Clinton for meeting with different progressive organizations that are making it their mission to save these elephants by signing the petition below.

Dear Hillary Clinton,

The poaching crisis in Africa is more serious than ever. President Obama has taken initiative to help end the mass slaughtering, and now you have also. You recently met with different environmental groups to see what you can to do to help the cause. You have made a promise to try and get as many leaders around the world as you can involved with the cause.

The current numbers of elephants in Africa are scary compared to what they have been in the past. The reason for the poaching is because of the high demand for ivory in Asian countries now. That is no reason to start killing these elephants. The threat of extinction has become so high lately that it is very possible for the elephants to disappear.

This crisis requires help from countries all around the world. America is involved and we can use all of the influential leaders that are willing to voice their opinion about the slaughtering. Luckily, leaders like you have taken the initiative to help the elephants. Thank you for helping to save these animals.

Thank you on behalf of the elephant population…could you please do something to help free Mali, the lonely elephant at the Manila zoo? We’ve all been writing and begging her captors to let her go to a sanctuary but all to no avail. I have a feeling Hilary could get it done…please…I can’t stand the thought of Mali’s suffering one more day, thank you
