Target: Salar Kamangar, CEO of YouTube and Senior Vice President of Video at Google
Goal: Remove YouTube broadcasts containing hate speech by homophobic pastor James David Manning and ban him from broadcasting in the future.
James David Manning is using a platform of Christianity to vilify the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered community, its supporters, legislators, and children of same-sex parents. The spread of hate-based rhetoric via YouTube by Mr. Manning’s broadcast, “The Manning Report” must not be allowed to continue. Manning regularly posts his anti-gay sermons and prayers against homosexuality on YouTube and is relentless in his need to tear down others, going as far as calling gay parents child molesters and comparing same-sex relationships to bestiality.
James Manning is the chief pastor of ATLAH World Missionary Church and ATLAH Worldwide Ministries in New York City. Mr. Manning claims to be a Doctor of Philosophy, but his degree was awarded him by ATLAH Theological Seminary, his own unaccredited school of learning. James David Manning’s true credentials speak for themselves; with a criminal background, including robbery, burglary, larceny, and criminal possession of a weapon, Mr. Manning’s own immoral decisions led him to serve a three and a half year prison sentence for his crimes in New York and Florida. Conversion for Mr. Manning came during his incarceration.
With a dwindling church membership, outraged neighbors, and few social media followers, James Manning is running out of outlets for his obsessive behavior. A vehement advocate of his own conspiracy theories, all of them immersed in hatred and bigotry, Mr. Manning must be held accountable for his words. Choosing a path of anger is his own, but attempting to force that path on others can hold no recognizable course on the journey to equal rights. This religious leader could stand to remove the log from his own eye before turning it on loving partners, families, and the communities that surround them. Send a message to YouTube that blind hatred will not be tolerated.
Dear Salar Kamangar, CEO of YouTube and Senior Vice President of Video at Google,
James David Manning, pastor of ATLAH World Missionary Church and ATLAH Worldwide Ministries is using YouTube to spread a message of hate. Mr. Manning posts an excessive number of videos directed at gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and transgendered individuals. Additionally, he targets children, national leaders, and civil rights supporters with his defamation of character and slander of a number of law-abiding, tax-paying citizens.
The immediate removal and ban of future videos from James David Manning that include hate speech targeted at homosexuals is demanded by YouTube. As the cry for equal civil rights rises, the rejection of the promotion of intolerance in an already violent world is called for.
