Applaud No-Kill Animal Shelter’s Outstanding Rescue Efforts

Target: Baja Dog Rescue

Goal: Praise nonprofit dog rescue organization for saving the lives of sick, injured, and orphaned animals.

Baja Dog Rescue is a no-kill animal shelter operated by volunteers who tirelessly work to rescue and rehabilitate dogs in the Baja California area. The organization’s volunteers bring homeless neglected dogs from the streets of Ensenada, Rosarito, and Tijuana to their facility in San Diego that currently shelters two hundred dogs. Each dog is spayed or neutered, vaccinated, treated for any medical or behavioral conditions, and socialized to become adoptable healthy pets. Baja Dog Rescue finds homes for almost five hundred dogs per year and coordinates with local pounds.

Every dog taken in by Baja Dog Rescue is given a fair second chance at life and finding a forever home by their no-kill policy. No dog is euthanized for behavior or temperament issues or for requiring expensive medical treatment. The facility goes out of its way to spare no expense to give animals medical attention, food, and tender loving care. All money from donations goes to the care of the dogs, not to administrative costs or salaries.

The organization has many impressive rescue stories in which they saved dogs found wandering the streets starving and sick. One dog that was rescued earlier this year had a cancerous venereal tumor on her body and a very painful infection. Baja Dog Rescue had the cancerous mass removed, treated the infection, and the dog underwent seven rounds of chemotherapy. Thanks to the compassion of Baja Dog Rescue and their donors, she beat the odds and recovered back to health and is now adoptable.

A few months ago Baja Dog Rescue saved a dog from a hoarding situation. The dog had suffered a broken front leg and was going to be turned loose by the owners who did not want to pay for his treatment. In another heartbreaking case, a dog covered in used motor oil had been rescued from the streets and brought to the shelter. Baja Dog Rescue treated him for mange, a gastrointestinal infection, severe diarrhea, worms, and tooth decay. It is typical for the organization to take in and provide care to dogs suffering from such extreme neglect.

Please sign this petition to congratulate this organization for their amazing efforts to save dogs in need.

If receiving sincere thanks and a blessing from someone living on the other side of the world will help you to continue doing what is obviously a very difficult “job” (I know what you are doing goes way beyond a job) – then I give you mine, with all my heart. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.
