Target: President Obama
Goal: Keep U.S. soldiers out of the violent and volatile conflict in Syria
The Syrian government has crossed Obama’s “red line” by using chemical weapons on the Syrian rebels. What does this mean? Hopefully, it means we increase our exportation of weapons sent to aid the Syrian rebels, but by no means should we send soldiers to help them. Especially not after they murdered a fourteen-year-old boy for insulting Islam. There is no right side in Syria. Please sign this petition if you agree U.S. soldiers should never step foot in that area.
Quatta, a fourteen-year-old boy working at a coffee shop, made an offhand comment about the Islamic prophet Muhammad. He was taken by Syrian rebels, whipped, and then shot publicly, his parents among the helpless crowd of being who watched as his life was so brutally extinguished. Even if the rebels oust dictator Bashar al-Assad, what will replace that dictatorship will not be a democracy, only another dangerous, murderous regime that needs to be overthrown.
Over 90,000 deaths have occurred in Syria since the beginning of the war, and 100-150 of them were caused by chemical weapons. Syria’ conflict is a powder keg – it will destroy anything involved. It will drag down anyone who tries to give them aid. We cannot allow our soldiers to back rebels who murder children, and we cannot back a government who murders its own people or who allies with Al-Qaeda, the very terrorist group responsible for the fall of the Twin Towers. Stepping into Syria would be like stepping into the destruction radius of a bomb. We cannot allow our sons and our brothers to enter another war when two are only just ending, and Iran still looms, ever the threat, in the distance.
If we were fresh, if our economy was strong, if we were invincible, entering Syria would be the right thing do. But none of that is true. Please sign if you believe our soldiers should never have to get involved in Syria’s war.
Dear President Obama,
If we support the Syrian rebels at this point, we are also going to be supporting Al-Qaeda. There is a good chance that the weapons we are currently providing the Syrian rebels with will also be used against us at some point. There is no side to support in this war.
If you expect the side we support to be grateful to us for our aid once they win, you would be wrong. They will turn on us, because Syria is filled with poison. The best thing we could possibly do is to remove ourselves entirely from the region, but I understand you cannot condone that after the reports were released of the Syrian government using chemical weapons on its people.
Please don’t send out soldiers there. America is tired. our soldiers our tired. Getting involved with Syria, going to war alongside the rebels, is the worst thing we could possibly do at this point in time.
Thank you for your time.
