End Unnecessary Medical Tests on Dogs

Target: Tom Katzenmeyer, Ohio State University’s Senior Vice President for University Communications

Goal: End the unnecessary, cruel tests that involve inflicting heart attacks on dogs at Ohio State University’s testing laboratory.

Live dogs are still used in Ohio State’s Testing laboratory in order to investigate a hypothesis that has long since been proven—that exercise strengthens the heart. Ohio State University Tester George Billman still insists on using live dogs to continue to test this knowledge which has been known for decades. The unnecessary suffering of these innocent creatures must be stopped. Please urge Tom Katzenmeyer, Ohio State University’s Senior Vice President for University Communications to end the useless, agonizing tests that continue to be performed by George Billman.

George Billman has tortured numerous dogs in his endless plight to test his hypothesis that exercise strengthens the heart despite years of research that has concluded this to be true. In his testing, he surgically implants a cuff around the artery of a dog’s heart. The dog is then forced to endure strenuous exercise on a treadmill while Mr. Billman tightens the cuff, causing constriction of the artery and subsequent heart attack. This form of testing causes immense suffering and pain in these creatures and is research that is no longer warranted.

Mr. Billman has already made 768 dogs suffer in his worthless research. PETA reviewed the records for dogs recently used by Mr. Billman and found that the dogs had suffered immensely. Please urge Tom Katzenmeyer, Ohio State University’s Senior Vice President for University Communications to halt this needless, barbaric testing by George Billman.

Dear Mr. Katzenmeyer,

I was horrified to learn that Ohio State University Laboratory still allows Mr. George Billman to inflict needless suffering and pain on dogs used in his ‘heart attack’ experiments. It has long been proven that exercise strengthens the heart. His continued testing of this hypothesis provides no new advancement in the field of medical research. Please halt his worthless testing immediately.

Mr. Billman has already forced 768 dogs to endure his painful experiments in which he surgically implants a cuff around the artery of a dog’s heart. He then forces the dog to suffer through strenuous exercise on a treadmill while he constricts the cuff further in order to produce a heart attack and study the effects of this on the dog. The fact that dogs are being abused for testing that has already been long proven is absolutely barbaric and should not be allowed to continue.

Please end Mr. George Billman’s reign of unnecessary terror on the lives of these gentle, innocent dogs. Shut down his worthless testing once and for all.

  1. I’m sorry but “unnecessary medical tests on dogs”? ANY test on animals is unnecessary in my humble opinion. It’s intended for humans? test it on humans. Go for people on death row or whatever, don’t punish the animals.

  2. ABSOLUTELY SICKENING… NOT to mention that the MAJORITY of tests done ON ANIMALS have BEEN PROVEN to provide dissimilar results as far as drug and chemical reaction. I LOVE FERNANDA’S comment! Take the TESTS out on INMATES . RAPISTS, PEDOPHILES,MURDERERS…NOT THE ANIMALS! SICKENING!!

  3. STOP THIS INSANITY !!!!!!!!!! NOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Jackie Ellison says:

We need to stop enslaving animals!

  5. The only animals in a hospital should be sick & there for treatment for that sickness. Not for experiments.

  6. Lyn wainwright says:

No animal is put on this earth simply to Benefit humankind. They are here because they have a life of their own to live.

  7. this has to stop. TEST on PRISONESR they have done wrong so give them life of Hell i say poor animals.

  8. Stop your heinous testing on dogs, now!!!
