Demand Action Against Air Force Lieutenant Charged With Sexual Battery

Target: General Mark A. Welsh III, Chief of Staff of the Air Force

Goal: Demand the Air Force take immediate, severe, punitive action against lieutenant charged with sexual battery.

Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Krusinski, head of the U.S. Air Force’s anti-sexual assault unit was recently arrested and charged with sexual battery after an alleged incident in Virginia, during which Krusinski grabbed a woman’s breasts and buttocks. Krusinski was under the influence of alcohol at the time, and attempted to grab the woman a second time. Luckily, the victim was able to fight off the Krusinski and call the police.

The Lieutenant Colonel is the chief of the Air Force’s sexual assault prevention and response branch. The unit is responsible for overseeing the service’s sexual assault prevention efforts. Sexual assault and battery are a rampant problem in the Air Force, with a reported 19,000 cases per year. The Air Force has also been involved in a number of sexual assault scandals, many concerning the sexual assault of military recruits by drill sergeants.  The Air Force also has a history of throwing out sexual assault charges against their top position-holders, and allowing assaulters and rapists to be reinstated to duty without reprimand or punishment.

There is precedent to assume that the Air Force will not take the charges against Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Krusinski as seriously as they should. Sexual assault is a heinous crime, and should be met with serious punitive action. Sign the petition below to demand that the Air Force take serious action against Krusinski.

Dear General Mark A. Welsh III,

Recently, Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Krusinski, head of the U.S. Air Force’s anti-sexual assault unit, was arrested and charged with sexual battery. The alleged incident took place in Virginia, steps away from the Pentagon. Krusinski was under the influence of alcohol when he physically grabbed a woman and groped her.

The Air Force has a history of serious sexual abuse charges and scandals; it also has a history of throwing out charges against top officers, and ignoring the seriousness of sexual assault and violent sex crimes. As a part of public service, it is deplorable and disturbing that the Air Force does not take breach of conduct more seriously. I am writing today to demand that Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Krusinski face serious repercussions for his actions. Do not allow sexual assaults to go unpunished any longer.
