Support New App Identifying Harmful Ingredients in Food

Target: Fooducate

Goal: Applaud Fooducate for developing a food product screening mobile app and support the widespread use of this app among consumers

Fooducate is a food activist group of parents, dietitians, and techies who help consumers make healthy food choices.  Fooducate recently came out with a mobile application that allows consumers to scan a product barcode and see product information, compare products, select better alternatives and learn more about food and nutrition. The Fooducate app provides a Genetically Modified Organism (GMO) indicator that allows consumers to make informed decisions about GMO foods. This app is integral to providing consumers with important information that food producers often keep hidden from them and could lead to a wave of millions of people who avoid GMO products in the near future.

One of the biggest obstacles that prevent people from eating healthy food is access to information, such as what chemicals are used in foods, if foods are gluten free, or if they could cause allergies. With few exceptions, food in the United States is not labeled when it is genetically modified and people often do not know what they are eating.

The new Fooducate app gives concise explanations along with a grading system and GMO identifier that uncovers the truth about what you eat. Consumers won’t have to struggle to interpret long words or ingredients on food labels, and will know whether the food includes GMOs, pesticides, herbicides, toxic food coloring, heavy metals, gluten, MSG, aspartame, or other cancer-causing substances.

This app represents an important step in food activism and the fight against large agro-business that aims to deceive consumers and put their health at risk to maximize profit. If everyone uses the Fooducate app and the GMO indicator, there could be real progress in the fight against GMOs as informed consumers will avoid these products and make healthier decisions for themselves and their families.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Fooducate team,

Thank you for combing your knowledge as parents, dietitians, and techies in the fight for consumer information and healthy food. One of the biggest obstacles that prevent people from eating healthy food is access to information, such as what chemicals are used in foods, if its gluten free or could cause allergies. With few exceptions, food in the United States is not labeled when it is genetically modified and people do not know what they are eating.

The Fooducate app empowers consumers and represents an important step in food activism and the fight against large agro-business, which prioritizes profit over consumer safety. If everyone uses the Fooducate app and the GMO indicator, there could be real progress in the fight against genetically modified foods (GMOs) as informed consumers will avoid these products and make healthier decisions for themselves and their families.

Sincerely,

If we continue to eat this junk, our healthcare costs will be astronomical, and as we can see, we are headed in that direction already. It’s time to provide a healthful diet and to stop the Big Ag lobbyists.
