Target: Victoria’s Secret CEO Lori Greeley
Goal: Manufacture bras for breast cancer survivors
About one in every eight women will develop breast cancer during their lifetimes. In 2011, there were 2.6 million breast cancer survivors in the United States alone. Many women with breast cancer have to undergo a mastectomy (breast removal), which is not only physically painful but can be devastating to a woman’s self-image. Recently, websites like The Scar Project have brought the self-image difficulties brought by breast cancer into the spotlight.
Victoria’s Secret, being the largest retailer of lingerie in North America, can bring further attention to the cause by offering bras for breast cancer survivors. Women with breast cancer often undergo multiple treatments, and it can be difficult for them to find bras that fit properly. Wearing pretty bras gives women a self-esteem boost, and these women need that now more than ever.
Being one of the most popular companies for women, Victoria’s Secret can make a huge difference. Offering bras for breast cancer survivors will not only help breast cancer survivors, but also increase business for Victoria’s Secret. Victoria’s Secret could also donate some of the proceeds to breast cancer research. Please encourage Victoria’s Secret to help millions of women today.
Dear Ms. Greeley,
There are over 2.6 million breast cancer survivors in the United States. Along with the physical effects, breast cancer can cause a huge drop in survivors’ self-images. Many women wear pretty lingerie to help them feel beautiful, but it can be difficult for these women to find bras that fit.
Victoria’s Secret can make a huge difference. As a company that is for women and run by women, it would be wonderful if Victoria’s Secret offered bras for breast cancer survivors. This would bring more media attention to the cause, be profitable for Victoria’s Secret, and most importantly, make millions of women feel beautiful when they need to the most. Victoria’s Secret could also help by donating some of the proceeds to breast cancer research. Please consider offering bras for breast cancer survivors and make a huge difference in millions of lives.
