Commend Charity for Feeding Pets of Low-Income Families

Target: Pet Food Stamps, Inc.

Goal: To thank the charity for creating a program that helps low-income families feed their pets

A new charity targeted towards low-income families with pets has officially been created. The charity is called Pet Food Stamps and it is designed to help low-income families who are struggling to feed their pets. New York is the home state for this charity but it has now become open to anyone in the United States. New York is helping to keep animal shelters a little less crowded, and we should commend them for their hard work.

If a family’s application is approved, then they receive food for their pets for a six-month period. More than 45,000 pets have been signed up in the past two weeks. The Pet Food Stamps charity doesn’t exactly hand out food stamps, for they are not currently looking for government funding.

Shelters across the country face overcrowding because owners are forced to surrender their beloved animals. Pets are a part of the family and having to surrender them to a shelter because you can no longer afford to feed them is a heartbreaking ordeal. This charity will hopefully help owners hold on to their pets for a little longer.

Anything that keeps our shelters from being overcrowded and spares animals from euthanasia should be praised. Not only will these animals still receive food, they will be able to remain with their families. Sign the petition below to thank the New York-based charity for helping these pets.

Dear Pet Food Stamps Inc.,

Shelters across the country must deal with overcrowded cages because owners are often forced to surrender their pets. A lot of pets are surrendered because their owners simply can’t afford to feed them at the time. Your charity will help keep our animal shelters from being overcrowded and keep families with their pets.

By providing owners with pet food for six months you are giving them more time to figure out how to care for their pets in the future. A pet being surrendered to a shelter because of financial problems should never be an issue that anyone has to face. Pets are a part of the family, and you are helping many people hold on to them.

On behalf of the low-income families and pets that you are supporting, we want to thank you. Your hard work will be rewarding to families who won’t have to worry about where their pet’s next meal is coming from.
