Target: Actress Naomi Watts
Goal: For the actress and others to stop being spokes-models for companies that test on animals
Beauty companies have always used beautiful women to promote their products. Whether they are up and coming models or award winning actresses, companies know that a famous face will sell their product. Unfortunately, many of these companies, such as Procter & Gamble, are still testing their products on animals. The spokes models they choose to endorse their products are either oblivious to this fact or choose to ignore it. We need to end animal testing and ask these famous women not to support it.
Actress Naomi Watts is the latest spokes-model for Pantene, which is owned by Procter & Gamble. This company is infamous for its testing on animals, even though they claim to not do it as often as in the past. It doesn’t matter if the testing is done once a year or once a day: it is still cruel and unnecessary. When famous people endorse products tested on animals it sends the message that what they are doing isn’t a big deal. Testing luxury items like makeup and shampoo on rabbits and monkeys is harmful to their health and can leave them with many medical issues. This is not worth the money that these sick companies rake in year after year.
We need to speak up to actresses like Naomi Watts and her peers and ask them to stop endorsing companies that test their products on makeup. Our technology now is very advanced and there has to be another way these companies can ensure their products are safe. Sign the petition below to ask Ms. Watts to stop endorsing Pantene products.
Dear Naomi Watts,
Your many fans admire you for your talent, beauty and amazing movies. Your celebrity status is a lucky quality that you have, for it allows you to have a platform to speak about important issues. Unfortunately, you have instead decided to endorse a product from a company that is infamous for testing on animals.
We live in a world with many scientific advances and there is no reason why companies should still have to test their products on small animals. These animals suffer during the experimentation and can be left permanently scarred by the processes. The end result we get from this animal cruelty is not worth their suffering. Luxury items like shampoo and make up are no reason to destroy healthy, young animals.
We believe you can use your status as an admired celebrity to speak out about this animal cruelty. Please stop endorsing Pantene products and stand up for the animals that the company continues to harm.
