Fire Workers Accused of Stomping on Live Turkeys

Target: Mark Schiller, CEO of Hain Celestial Group and Plainville Farm President Tom Donovan

Goal: Fire workers accused of kicking, torturing striking, and stomping on live turkeys.

A video published by PETA has reportedly shown vulgar, sadistic treatment of turkeys at a production site in New Oxford, Pennsylvania for Plainville Farms. In the video, workers are apparently shown kicking, torturing striking, and stomping on live turkeys, who are left on the floor to die after being tortured. Workers apparently grab the turkeys by the wings, a delicate spot, and fling them at each other playfully. This seriously twisted behavior must be punished if proven true.

Plainville Farms provides food for markets such as Whole Foods, Publix, and Harris Teeter. On their website, they declare that the alleged actions go against the company’s morals. They claim that the workers will be held accountable, but it is vital we make certain the company follows through. If these accusations are true, then labeling these products as “humanely-raised” is simply not true.

New protocols should be demanded to limit scenarios like this from happening. Acknowledgement is not enough- demand these workers and supervisors are fired if found responsible and that new regulations are implemented that actually guarantee humane treatment of these turkeys in the future.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mark Schiller and Tom Donovan,

As you may be aware, recent footage of turkey farms by employees at your companies were released. If reports are true, employees entertained themselves by torturing animals. While it is important to acknowledge any wrongdoing, you must also ensure there are consequences for the workers accused of this abuse. Firing supervisors and workers who allegedly allowed this treatment to happen is an important first step. You should not advertise your products as “humanely-raised” or “cruelty-free” if this is not the case either. Your retailers at Publix, Harris Teeter, and Whole Foods should also be formally informed about this incident.

Please ensure investigations against these locations are followed through and the proper consequences are met. While this video reportedly showing the violence at your turkey farms may demonstrate a single scenario, it is your responsibility to look into all your farms at differing locations. Enact protocols that ensure cruelty does not occur. Consumers and non-consumers alike will be awaiting direct action from your companies.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

DESPICABLE ACTS OF ANIMAL ABUSE AND CRUELTY. CLOSE DOWN THE FARM AND PROSECUTE THOSE RESPONSIBLE TO THE FULL EXTENT OF THE LAW

    • Amen to this as these people do not need to be free to hurt other animals and or people

    • Joyce O'Malley says:

Animal abuse is rampant in the USA!!
Close down this farm – put information in owners and employees files
Quit eating meat and poultry!!! Quit eating dairy!!
      Close down factory farms!!!

  2. Sick cruel men shoyld be fired and prosecuted

    • Annette & Jeff Patrone says:

We hear you Carla however as much as we know that’s the civilized approach, and its not that we’re not, its just too easy or rather doesn’t fit the crime.

The fact that it was DESIRE AND JOY, BASTARDS, to be this heinous, calloused, vicious, abusive and cruel to these poor innocent sentients beings, living an already life of pathetic hell just to be slaughtered that just puts you, or rather people like us, over the top of civility and honestly think would be so much more beneficial if there could somehow be more corporal type punishment for these pathetic low life scum bags or at least an eye for eye where we honestly feel would help minimize and deter such cruel and abusive acts AND in cases like this with employers, definitely hold the farm owner accountable bc we truly think they turn a blind eye and THAT is as unacceptable as the assholes committing these heinous acts of cruelty. The punishment needs to fit the crime! That’s what we’re saying, and most often does not, and its a crime in itself!!!

  3. Another abusive farm story! By law all farm workers should wear body cams so this abuse is strictly monitored. Where was the supervision for these idiots.?

Animal welfare should shut this place down iand Plainville foods should be boycotted by all the people who buy from them in protest of this sickening, cruel abusive behaviours do to the turkeys who gave them a job.

    • Dolores Proubasta says:

Body cams! Excellent idea, Jacquie. Plus cameras all around the animal enclosures. Like everywhere else. And the fact that this isn’t so in farms is proof that they are systematically abused. DON’T EAT MEAT!

    • Patricia Lamonica says:

WELL SAID JACQUIE!!!! I TOTALLY AGREE!!!!

  4. How I LOATHE Abusers of the innocent & vulnerable — Do NOT let the IDIOTS get away with their heinous crimes — Better yet, GO VEGAN — STOP the TORTURE & SUFFERING — laws exist but RARELY ENFORCED — Farms continue with illegal, SADISTIC, immoral, unconscionable ABUSE to Animals — the safest & best option is to GO VEGAN — it’ll be a WIN-WIN for all except the IDIOTS who are there to gain on the backs of us all, People & Animals alike — STOP SUPPORTING Abuser-KILLERS — GO VEGAN — GO VEGAN — Try a “BEYOND Burger” — you’ll enjoy it.

  5. ALL animals exploited for food suffer and die for food, this type of abject suffering is inherent in “animal agriculture”. If you’re not vegan, don’t pretend to care about these animals – why were they there in the first place?

MUST GIVE ALL THOSE ABUSES JAIL TIME!!! WITH A HUGE FINE…..
THIS KIND OF AWFUL ABUSE IS A CRIME ,,,, MUST BE STOPPED!!!!

  7. John David Stevens says:

This horrible way to die, Invoking terror and pain and confusion, betrayal of an earthling with no voice and no say is absolutely evil to it’s core. These workers need to be fired and have charges of felony animal cruelty brought fourth. This practice must end. Demand Whole Foods use the full weight of their power and influence to take meaningful changes for animals in their supply chains. Target Contact prosecutors, board of directors, @WholeFoods on Twitter, customers, direct action, leaflets, emails, hand written letters are taken much more serious, any agitation is good. We have to do something about this. Please help these turkeys

    • Charleen Murphy says:

So true!! This is so sick, evil!! Unjust!! Horrendous,so terrible! It’s hard to think about. Yes that needs to happen asap!! Poor precious turkeys!! I wish no one ate meat, I haven’t most of my life

  8. Rhonda M Hodgman says:

UNBALANCED HUMAN POS … FIRED! … FIRED! … FIRED! … MANAGEMENT … SUPS … PRODUCTION WORKERS … ANYONE ELSE WHO HAD KNOWLEDGE AND DID NOT REPORT IT!!!

  9. ALL these CRUEL IDIOTS SHOULD BE STOMPED TO DEATH WHILE ALIVE TOO!!!!!!

  10. Inocent defenseless animals!😢do the same thing to the BASTARDS!!!

  11. So cowardly and sadistic. These types only pick on living creatures that cannot fight back. It’s a sickening indictment of the so called humans. Shame on all concerned. Shame!

  12. These worthless cocksucking sleazefuck subhuman pos cuntwhores need to be stomped on until they’re no longer polluting our planet with their existence.

  13. Cindy Miller says:

Make sure theses idiots never work with animals again after they’re released from jsil!

  14. These people are sadistic sociopaths, and belong in jail! If these low-lifes have not been criminally charged, then Petitions need to also be going to law enforcement to pressure them into charging these people. Installing cameras would be a big deterrent, I would think, in helping stop this blatant animal abuse.

  15. Freaking Factory Farming the whole thing is an abomination, This is something that should never of been invented. Animals do not need to be treated in this way, GREED GREED & MORE GREED

    • Charleen Murphy says:

Yes so true!! So wrong, horrible & unjust! So sad. They have to be fd in the head! Sadistic 😡😡😠😭

  16. Such vile behavior, what cruelty!

  17. Only a disgusting POS would get enjoyment from torturing and abusing animals that can’t defend themselves! Do they do the same to other humans like small children? For a company that brags about ‘humane’, it’s time for management to enforce the Rules! Appalling brutality. I know where NOT to shop.

  18. Shirley Lemieux says:

It is crucial that the people responsible for animal abuse and torture be fired from Plainville Farms. The last thing that Plainville Farms needs is bad publicity about what really goes on there. That is why it is imperative that Plainville Farms acts swiftly and responsibly regarding this matter.

  19. These scumbag animal killers must be exterminated. A slow and agonising death for these evil cretins is essential!! OH YESSS!!!!
