Goal: Rescue animals being burned alive by climate change driven fires in Turkey.
More than 2,000 farm animals have been burned alive by out-of-control wildfires in Turkey. The fires, driven by climate change induced heat waves, are the worst Turkey has seen in modern times. In addition to the thousands of dead animals, six people have lost their lives, including two firefighters.
While wildfires are not uncommon in Turkey, these fires are unique in their size and ferocity. This is due to historically unusual heat, low humidity, and dry soils, all driven by climate change.
Authorities and residents were caught off-guard by the severity of these fires, thereby allowing thousands of farm animals to be caught and killed in the flames.

Dear Recep Tayyip Erdogan,
Thousands of animals have burned alive in climate change driven wildfires in your country and six people have lost their lives, so far. While climate change is a global issue, your country provides heavy subsidies to coal energy which is a primary source of greenhouse gas emissions.
These people and animals did not have to lose their lives. On the global stage, you can provide more climate leadership, and at home, you can provide authorities with the resources necessary to protect all creatures from the ravages of climate change.
Please do what is right and fight climate change for all living beings.

I’m sure you’re an expert on climate after all, having seen some pretty convincing YouTube videos. That sounds far more plausible than the scientific explanation, that has all those pesky facts and proof of data.

The Turkish prime minister is only interested in his own personal projects… like that canal he wants to build right through his country!?!?! Utter madness…. yes, because he is mad. He doesn’t care for helpless sheep and donkeys. Nor his people’s welfare. The international community will have to assist – Intl SPCA etc. Very sad.

We feel so sorry for all of the horses, deer, turtles, and every other species of wildlife that live in their natural habitats and environments that are being burned by these devastating wildfires. This is such an awful situation. The West has been having these devastating wildfires for years, and this is really worrisome and scary.

Wake up people this isn’t about climate change.This is all about money. The hot sun just can’t be blamed for these wildfires. this goes on all the time. just look at the poor animals that suffer through these wildfires. they are losing their lives and habitat. These wildfires are being deliberately set by the greedy government and those whom are careless when they camp out in these forest. They should be ashamed of their self because they don’t care about the wildlife or the lives that they destroy. all they care about is greed and themselves. they should be severely punished for their actions.
You really need to educate yourself on how droughts, more earthquakes, floods, fires, Green house gases etc are all interconnected in climate change.

Despite the true cause of these fires, you would think that individuals who own farm animals would be more responsible by removing them out of harms way instead of leaving them behind to burn. One of the first things that irresponsible humans do during an emergency is to save themselves and leave behind the lives that are totally dependent on their owners to provide and protect them. That is why thousands of farm animals burned to death in these fires while only 6 humans died.

My heart breaks for every one of these millions of animals, small and large, in wildfires, floods, etc around the planet. Pets, strays, livestock and wildlife, all decimated by various global catastrophes. Let each one of us resolve to do whatever we can to mitigate climate change. There is strength in numbers but each one of can make a difference. Each one HAS TO make a difference.
