Stop Lithium Mines From Causing Irreparable Environmental Damage

Target: Jon Raby, Nevada State Director, Bureau of Land Management

Goal: Stop the Thacker Pass lithium mine site in Nevada from destroying the environment and threatening wildlife.

Approval of the Thacker Pass lithium mine in Nevada has been contentious for over a century. The damage that this mine could cause to the environment and local wildlife could be devastating, yet the project was hurriedly approved under ex-president Donald Trump. Now, court action is being taken against the parent company, Lithium Americas Corp, to stop excavation before it begins.

This mine is set to be the largest lithium mine in the United States and to produce large quantities of materials required for green products, such as electric vehicle batteries. However, the potential environmental damage caused by this mine could be catastrophic and would offset any environmental benefit that could be achieved.

Sign this petition to stop this destructive project from mining the earth’s resources and causing irreparable damage to the land and animals.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Raby,

I feel that your office erred in approving the Thacker Pass lithium mine. The decision to allow this highly controversial mine was irresponsibly made under the Trump administration and approval for this project should be revoked. In light of the recent environmental lawsuit, I urge you to take the moral high ground and put an end to this project before construction begins.

Please stop the Thacker Pass lithium mine in Nevada.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
