Spend Tax Dollars on Humanitarian Relief, Not Weapons

Target: Senator John Cornyn, U.S. Senator for Texas

Goal: Prevent unnecessary weaponizing founded on racist animosity toward China.

At a time of economic vulnerability in the United States, Senator John Cornyn is trying to funnel more money into the already bloated defense fund. Using racist animosity toward China, Senator Cornyn is using unfounded opposition to justify further financing of the American war machine at the expense of working people. So has been the tendency in the U.S. to develop weapons and wars with one hand, while brushing off housing, health care, and education with the other.

Now as unemployment reaches unprecedented rates and deaths due to mismanagement of the COVID-19 virus near 500,000, it is time to draw the line and say enough is enough. Don’t let the warmongering of blood-thirsty representatives and money-hungry arms dealers have the final say in how U.S. tax dollars are being spent. Too many lives have been lost as a result of their corrupt and skewed priorities. Sign the petition below to deny any further financing of the American war machine.

Dear Sen. Cornyn,

China is not the enemy of the U.S people. Should you move forward with pouring tax dollars endlessly into the “defense fund,” you will have the blood on your hands. People are unable to receive the medical attention they need, the housing they need, and the unemployment they need. This world does not need another war. Now, what is required to recover is collaboration and real solutions.

Creating animosity and opposition between nations is not a solution to anything. Have the wars of the past taught you nothing? All that comes of it is more bloodshed and devastation. I urge you to stop feeding hatred to meet your own agenda that has nothing to do with meeting the real needs of your constituents. Divest from war and invest in people’s lives and making them livable.
