Save Right Whales From Death By Entanglement

Target: Chris Oliver, Assistant Administrator for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Goal: Grant right whales real protection from entanglement.

In the last decade, the right whale population has declined by 25%. These incredible creatures have been washing up dead or injured as a result of entanglement in fishing lines and equipment. In order to protect right whales, the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) must implement emergency requirements on the water to regulate fishing practices.

There is no time to waste, every day that passes, more right whales are being slashed into by fishing lines and losing their lives. We must act now. Sign below and tell NOAA to protect right whales from entanglement and ultimately, extinction.

Dear Mr. Oliver

The right whale population is rapidly declining. There is no question that the high death rates of this endangered species are a direct result of current fishing practices and use of equipment. Right whales have been washing up dead or seriously injured on the shores due to entanglement in fishing lines.

Save right whales from preventable extinction by implementing urgent protections through fishing guidelines and requirements. These measures must be enforced to ensure the survival of this struggling species.

Whales re magnificent creatures. They are highly intelligent and they collect an enormous amount of CO2 on their backs. They are a great assist to us especially in climate change. Whales have their routes of travel. The fisheries know that fact. Whales dying in massive numbers for years due to ropes, fishing line and more. This needs to stop! NOW!!! There must be a revised law which hurts the fisheries if they hurt whales. The fisheries could move their location and find better equipment. The fisheries MUST do this or the Right Whales will perish from the earth.

  2. Please use your power to do good and protect these beautiful endangered creatures. Let your legacy be one of compassion. Protect the Right Wales NOW!
