Walmart: Stop Selling Coconut Milk Allegedly Produced with Forced Animal Labor

Target: Doug McMillon, President & CEO, Walmart

Goal: Remove Chaokoh coconut milk from store shelves after reports allege it is produced with forced animal labor.

According to investigations by PETA, Theppadungporn Coconut Co., which supplies coconuts for the popular Chaokoh coconut milk brand, uses forced monkey labor to pick its coconuts. Since these allegations arose, Target, Wegmans, Costco, and other grocery giants have removed the product from their shelves. Demand that Walmart follow their lead.

According to these investigations, PETA found “found cruelty to monkeys on every farm, at every monkey-training facility, and in every coconut-picking contest that used monkey labor.” The monkeys are reportedly forced to pick coconuts and then perform for tourists. They were also said to be “tethered, chained to old tires, or confined to cages barely larger than their bodies.”

This horrific cruelty should not be given the financial support it needs to continue. Sign the petition to demand that Walmart be the next big-box store to drop Chaokoh coconut milk from its shelves and take a stand against forced animal labor and cruelty.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. McMillon,

According to reports and investigations from PETA, Theppadungporn Coconut Co. and Chaokoh coconut milk use forced animal labor to turn a profit. Allegedly, monkeys are being used to not only pick coconuts but then perform for tourists. While they’re not working, they’re reportedly “tethered, chained to old tires, or confined to cages barely larger than their bodies.”

Your competitors Target, Wegmans, and Costco have already dropped this product from its shelves. I ask that you do the same. Stop selling products produced by Theppadungporn Coconut Co., stop allowing corporations to profit off forced labor, and take a stand for animal rights.

Sincerely,

  1. All scumbags associated with animal abuse must be put to death and nothing less!

  2. Walmart is bad for our world!! We won’t shop there anymore due to cruel practices. Money over compassion is what Walmart endorses!!
