Justice for 26 Animals Reportedly Stuffed into Trailer

Target: Mike Mullin, County Attorney, Nassau County, FL

Goal: Prosecute woman who reportedly stuffed over 20 animals into a cramped trailer.

Over 20 animals were allegedly stuffed into a small, overcrowded pickup truck trailer and transported across the state of Florida. The trailer was so tightly packed, one of the animals was described by authorities as being “trampled.” Loren Jean McCutcheon, the woman allegedly responsible for this abuse, was arrested and charged with ten counts of animal cruelty. If these horrific allegations are true, she must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

The animals imprisoned in the trailer included eight dogs, seven cats, four horses, two donkeys, one alpaca, three mini horses, and one ring-tailed lemur. They were only discovered after McCutcheon’s pickup truck was stopped at a weigh station due to expired tags. It is unknown at this time what McCutcheon’s plans for these animals were; however, similar cases point to the illegal transportation of animals for farming or private use.

Thankfully, all animals, even the one that was trampled by the others, are in the care of the Nassau County Animal Service. If McCutcheon is indeed responsible for this reported cruelty, she must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Demand justice.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear County Attorney Mullin,

Eight dogs, seven cats, four horses, two donkeys, one alpaca, three mini horses, and one ring-tailed lemur were all found at a Florida weigh station, reportedly crammed into a single trailer secured to the back of a pickup truck. Without food, water, and even air, these animals suffered horribly. Thankfully, they were saved from whatever destination and fate awaited them by the Nassau County Animal Service.

Loren Jean McCutcheon is the vehicle owner reportedly responsible for this abuse. She now faces ten counts of animal cruelty. Please do not let her go with a simple slap on the wrist. Countless other animals could suffer. If these allegations are true, I ask that she be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Sincerely,
