Target: Mitch McConnell, U.S. Senate Majority Leader
Goal: Denounce Trump’s phone call requesting officials overturn 2020 presidential election results.
President Trump recently spent over an hour on the phone with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, a fellow Republican, attempting to convince him to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election in Georgia. Georgia was a key state in the 2020 presidential election and, ultimately, the Electoral College votes from this state went to President-elect Joe Biden.
The phone call, which is a blatant attempt to pressure election officials, has been released in full by the Washington Post. Trump made comments like, “We won very substantially in Georgia. You even see it by rally size, frankly. We’d be getting 25-30,000 people a rally and the competition would get less than 100 people.” Of course, the results of the presidential election have no correlation to rally attendance. Trump also made claims that there is evidence of both fraudulent votes and instances where people attempted to vote but could not. Election officials have said, continuously, that there is no evidence of voter fraud. Trump also said, “flipping the state is a great testament to our country.” There is no evidence that would suggest that the vote count in Georgia was fraudulent in any way.

Dear Senator McConnell,
There is currently an individual who is repeatedly and blatantly attempting to tamper with U.S. presidential election results. This person is making personal calls to the highest election officials in states where the vote count was very close between the two major candidates and asking them to overturn the results of the election without any proof, evidence, or legal reasoning to do so. This is happening in plain sight, but major politicians have stayed mum about it because the individual who is threatening American democracy is the president himself: Donald Trump.
This behavior must be denounced and discouraged and politicians and legislators must show a united front against any attempt to tamper with voting results. I urge you to speak out against President Trump’s recent call to Georgia’s Secretary of State.
