Malnourished Horses and Dogs Allegedly Victimized by Owner Deserve Justice

Target: Heather L. Adams, District Attorney of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania

Goal: Punish woman who reportedly skipped out on trial after alleged animal neglect.

In the fall of 2020, authorities discovered seemingly severely undernourished horses and dogs at a Pennsylvania property. The owner of the property, Joanna Fleming, faced felony and misdemeanor cruelty charges along with unrelated charges for theft and fraud. She was recently due in court to face these allegations. Instead of taking responsibility and defending herself, this woman apparently chose to skip out on court—and potential punishment—instead.

As reported in this ForceChange petition, three horses were said to be in particularly bad shape, reportedly afflicted with rain rot and overgrown hooves in addition to the alleged malnourishment. Tragically, a horse just days old was euthanized because he had developed sepsis from deeply infected wounds.

Sign the petition below to urge that this suspect be levied additional charges along with the maximum possible sentence if found guilty. These poor animals deserve justice, something that Fleming cannot and should not be able to ignore.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Ms. Adams,

Joanna Fleming failed to appear for her court date in which she would answer five animal cruelty charges and other serious charges. She must be held accountable for both her alleged actions and her apparent flight from the legal system. One young animal died and several more could have suffered the same fate. These living beings deserve justice.

Please ensure Ms. Fleming is brought to justice by prosecuting her to the fullest extent when she is apprehended.

Sincerely,

  1. Animal abusers internationally most certainly must have the death penalty performed on them. A fine or prison is not appropriate!

This poor excuse for a human being must be apprehended and prosecuted to do
as much jail time as possible. It will never make up for the cruelty she deliberately inflicted on these gentle creatures.
