Justice for Cats and Chickens Allegedly Left to Die in Apartment of Horrors

Target: Mark Powell, District Attorney for Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania

Goal: Punish family whose alleged gross negligence led to deaths of multiple animals.

A mother and son have been charged with inflicting horrendous pain and suffering on at least five animals. After a neighbor’s complaint, authorities arrived at the apartment of Linda and Matthew Davis and reportedly made a grisly discovery. Two dead cats and three dead chickens were apparently strewn around a trash- and feces-filled environment.

The reported horrors did not end here. One of the cats had seemingly been decapitated, and later examinations suggested that the other deceased cat—apparently desperate for food—had partially consumed the corpse. The chickens had also reportedly suffered severe malnourishment, and their bodies were found in wired-shut cages. The suspects claim that they lacked the resources to care for these animals and that they had been staying in a separate residence. Even if the excuses were true, instead of seeking assistance these individuals apparently abandoned living beings under their care to a hellish fate.

Sign the petition below to demand that if found guilty, this family faces full consequences.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Powell,

Mother and son Linda and Matthew Davis face charges of aggravated animal cruelty and neglect. They claim ignorance of their deceased pets’ horrific fates, despite the weeks-long starvation and—in one sick instance—decapitation these poor living beings reportedly endured. Now, two cats and three chickens have seemingly been lost to some of the most painful and inhumane deaths imaginable.

These apparently absentee caretakers must be held culpable if found guilty. Please prosecute this disturbing case to the fullest extent of the law and seek maximum sentencing.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

Just one year, no – ten years at least and a good fine that they’d have to pay before they get out of jail, and if they can’t, let them rot there until they are able to pay it in full.
