Trump: Cancel 20+ White House Holiday Parties Amidst Coronavirus Pandemic

Target: Donald Trump, President of the United States

Goal: Protect public healthy by canceling White House holiday parties amidst the global coronavirus pandemic.

The President of the United States is once again putting the lives of Americans at risk. President Trump plans to move forward with White House holiday parties, with blatant disregard for the suggestions of public health officials to stay home this holiday season. Party invitations from the White House were recently sent out to guests. The invitations make no mention of the coronavirus and they do not acknowledge precautions suggested by public health officials. These holiday invitations are a reminder that President Trump has been denying the realities of the pandemic for far too long.

The invitations are formal and include the message, “The president and Mrs. Trump request the pleasure of your company at a holiday reception to be held at the White House.” The invitations also feature the presidential seal. Administration officials have confirmed that invitations to at least twenty different holiday parties hosted at the White House have been sent out so far. Guest lists include politicians and allies (some from out of state), Republican National Committee officials, Trump campaign staff, and some Senators.

Sign this petition to urge President Trump and the Trump Administration to cancel holiday parties hosted at the White House and follow the advice of public health officials to stay home in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

Dear President Trump,

The way that you spend your last months as President of the United States will have a lasting effect on your legacy. In the weeks since you’ve lost the presidential election to President-Elect Joseph Biden, you have done very little to address the growing catastrophe of the coronavirus pandemic. More and more Americans are testing positive and dying because of this virus. Countless others who have survived the initial infection are reporting lasting symptoms that are reminiscent of a condition as opposed to an infection.

Your decision to carry on with White House holiday parties as normal blatantly ignores the suggestion of public health officials to stay home during this holiday season and only interact with individuals who are within your household. How do you expect Americans to heed these warnings if you yourself will not? I urge you to cancel the holiday parties scheduled to take place at the White House and to urge citizens to continue to follow guidelines to prevent the spread of this deadly virus.
