Provide Starving Families With Urgent Food Relief

Target: Sonny Perdue, Secretary of U.S. Department of Agriculture

Goal: Grant emergency food stamp relief to millions of Americans during pandemic.

As many as 40 percent of Americans living in poverty are not receiving emergency food stamps they desperately need to save their families from hunger. Rather than help these suffering men, women, and children secure an essential lifeline, the Trump Administration is instead arguing in court to continue depriving this life-and-death aid.  In one state alone, Pennsylvania, nearly half a billion dollars in assistance has been withheld.

When Congress passed the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, one of the major features of the measure was a supposed federal ramp-up of emergency Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits for states. Since the act’s beginning, however, the Trump U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has spent more time trying to find loopholes, muddle up language, and entangle states in red tape than actually helping families crushed by an ongoing pandemic. At least two states have sued the USDA, but this agency still continues to fight against rather than for the American people.

Sign the petition below to demand the nation’s premier food agency reverse a heartless stance that is sending more Americans toward starvation.

Dear Secretary Perdue,

You are making a lie out of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act by showing that for this administration, families assuredly do not come first. Take a walk down any street in America and you will find families suffering and in desperate need: circumstances compounded by a paralyzed federal response. The USDA, whose mission is supposed to include the sustenance of the American people, is instead subjecting millions to hunger and starvation.

On the USDA home page, you tout your Coronavirus Food Assistance Program. Why, then, does this agency currently have its lawyers in court fighting against emergency SNAP benefits and urgently needed food stamps for families hit hard by the pandemic?  The people do not need a few dozen hollow legal reasons why you will not help. They need one good reason to hope that in their most trying times, their leaders will be there for them.

Show this country that your agency cares about every American. Step aside and let this urgent aid “snap” into place.

Take care of HUNGRY AMERICANS NOW.

  2. BUT. BUT Economy is so great. So many jobs. Said pos in chief.

  3. See, there goes using the name of Trump for no reason. The targeted individual is Perdue, not Trump. Poverty in America have been there since the the time when states were colonies and it will continue to be there till the end of time. Every country in the world has some of it’s people living in poverty, some less and others more. Poverty is composed of ignorance, drug and alcohol addiction and crime. These are things that can not be resolved by no agency or president anywhere. In America there is plenty of help and opportunities to those who want to live a better life, but you must be willing to.
