Six cats were allegedly covered in fleas and living inside a home filled with so much waste, officers had to wear masks and hazmat suits to rescue them. Donald Lee Gay Jr. was charged with 18 counts of animal cruelty in relation to the incident. He needs to spend the most time in prison possible if it is found he severely neglected these cats.

Reports state there were a massive number of flies on the walls and that there were so many fleas inside the home, they could be seen constantly jumping on the cats. It was further stated the residence had no electricity and that the cats were surrounded by feces and urine. Gay reportedly had not lived on the property in two years and only fed the cats a couple times per week. He was also accused of not providing the animals with proper space, clean air, or water. Sign this petition to demand Gay spend the most time behind bars possible if he is found guilty of this inexcusable animal cruelty.

Dear State Attorney Strong,

Donald Lee Gay Jr. was recently brought up on 18 counts of animal cruelty after his six cats were allegedly found covered in fleas and abandoned inside a residence filled with trash and flies. He needs to get the most stringent punishment the law will allow if he is found guilty of this animal abuse.

Police noted that fleas were not only jumping on the cats, but they were also jumping on investigators. The cats were likely living in scorching heat, as it was stated in the report that there was no electricity inside the home. Flies were allegedly all over the walls, and the home was said to stink of trash, feces and urine that had been sitting around for an unspecified amount of time. According to officers, Gay fed the cats twice a week and did not give them access to adequate space, fresh air, or water.

The home was allegedly so filthy that officials needed to wear hazmat suits and masks when they went to seize the cats. For these reasons, we demand you seek the strictest legal sentence allowed for this crime so that other animals will hopefully not have to suffer if Gay is found guilty of these unthinkable acts.
