Small and Fragile Dog Reportedly Killed by Pet Sitter Deserves Justice

Target: State Attorney of the 19th Judicial Circuit of Florida, Bruce Colton

Goal: Give man harshest legal sentence for allegedly killing one dog and seriously injuring two others.

Javon Harriel has been accused of killing one dog and severely injuring two others while pet sitting. Unless this alleged abuse is harshly punished, innocent animals will continue to be in danger. If Harriel is found guilty, then he needs to get the most stringent sentence as allowed by law.

The owner of the dogs unfortunately learned that his small Chihuahua-dachshund mix was dead after getting a call from his grandmother. When he returned home from work, he also reportedly noticed that one of his dogs was shaking profusely and that another one of his dogs was unable to stand up.

According to authorities, Harriel admitted that he had caused the dogs harm. Harriel also allegedly wrote an apology letter that claimed he had accidentally kicked the Chihuahua-dachshund mix after he became excited over winning a video game. He further wrote, per reports, that he had “popped” one dog in the back of the legs so the animal would not use the bathroom in the house and he allegedly confessed to hitting another dog in the nose.

There is never a good excuse to abuse a dog. Sign this petition to demand Harriel spend the most time behind bars possible if he is found guilty of these unthinkable acts.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear State Attorney Colton,

Javon Harriel was arrested for animal cruelty after he allegedly killed one dog and nearly crippled two others while pet sitting. If found guilty, then he needs to spend the most amount of time in prison that is allowed for this crime so that other animals will more likely be safe.

Sadly, the dog’s owner’s grandmother called him at work to let him know that his fragile Chihuahua-dachshund had died. When he got home, he allegedly found one of his dogs shaking uncontrollably, and his other dog not able to maintain balance.

An autopsy of the Chihuahua-dachshund mix reportedly showed that fluid had accumulated toward the top of the skull and in the right ear canal, which had likely been caused by blunt trauma. Harriel further allegedly told authorities that he was the person who had hurt the dogs, as a result of either kicking or hitting them too hard.

Such apparent animal cruelty should not be tolerated. We therefore demand that you suggest Harriel be given the strictest legal sentence if it is found he is responsible for abusing these helpless dogs.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

Florida state attorney TAKE A STAND!! Be brave for the innocent; when you ignore this cruel, heartless behavior, you are giving more power to the abusers. We need stricter laws in our government and courts for the voiceless. Longer prison terms and stiffer penalties!

  3. Valerie Gaffney says:

Killing an innocent SMALL dog and harming 2 others CANNOT and SHOULD NOT go unpunished He must get a very harsh sentence and banned for life fom any animal Mind if I had my way the latter wouldn’t be necessary because he would receive an automatic death sentence by blunt force trauma to his skull!

  4. Evelyn Taylor says:

I am profusely disgusted and upset that this man could do this over a stupid video game or anything else for that matter,it is no different to a babysitter killing the children they are looking after in my book and should be dealt with according,i am a dog sitter myself and treat them as i would my own dog’s, they are spoilt rotten! He should get maximum jail time and banned from ever going near animals again!

  5. Maria Bertrand says:

Bruce Colton None of the excuses this demon gives make any sense at all. He deserves the harshest punishment….Murder First Degree. His name should be on a National Register for animal abuse so that he never again comes near another animal.

He is a DANGER to ALL… Please do what is right and the only right thing MAKE HIM PAY!!!

I HOPE Harriel GETS ALL THE AGONY BACK!

  6. Florida AGAIN? What is going on in Florida???
This guy is a sociopath that needs to be put in jail for a very LONG TIME. Someone like this is a THREAT to society; people and animals alike. This guy would have done the same thing to a child, and if not punished harshly, he will. Please do not give him the opportunity to do this. Society does not need another Jeffrey Dahmer on the loose.

  7. Isobel doyle says:

Basically what this person did was to murder the one little dog and almost murdered the other two. These innocent animals did not deserve this end
.. this person responsible needs to be put away for a very long time and needs to be put on a registry as an animal abuser so can never be able to have access to animals ever again.

  8. Yes “we have that” animal abuse is a felony, yet such trash are still only getting misdemeanor charges and or community service. We will keep signing petitions, but judges and lawyers and communities need to treat these twisted individuals as the violent offenders that they are and make certain they are thrown in jail!

  9. Renata Kuchinsky says:

    Florida State Attorney

Please get this animal killer behind bars with the harshest punishment possible

He is a danger to animals and people

Please make sure he does not see the light of the day

RIP tiny Chihuahua. I pray the other 2 innocent dogs can be healed and live in peace. As I sit in my bedroom with my 2 lab mix dog and my tiny Chihuahua mix I am quite sure if someone hurt or killed my babies then that coward would suffer the same fate. Javon Harriel is a useless bit of human garbage. He needs no mercy as he showed the precious dogs no mercy. More than likely the lazy coward got mad at the dogs for interrupting his oh so important video game! His stories are ridiculous and only someone really stupid would believe him! Florida, take a stand for the innocent.

  11. ANIMAL ABUSE IS A FEDERAL CRIME UNDER THE P.A.C.T. ACT!!!!
WHY DO WE HAVE TO FIGHT TO HAVE A FEDERAL LAW ENFORCED????

SHAMEFUL, AND A DERELICTION OF DUTY AND AN OUTRAGE!!!!!

DEMAND THE LAW BE ENFORCED OR RECALL THOSE WHO FAIL ENFORCE THE FEDERAL P.A.C.T. ACT!!!!!!

  12. WHY ARE WE ALLOWING LOCAL OFFICIALS TO IGNORE A FEDERAL LAW THAT HAS ESTABLISHED ANIMAL ABUSE AS A FEDERAL CRIME????

LOCAL GOVERNMENTS MUST BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE, OR REMOVED FROM OFFICE!

  13. GREAT ENDORSEMENT FOR FLORIDA: A BLATANT CASE OF ANIMAL ABUSE,SE AND OFFICIALS ARE TOO LAZY, IGNORANT OF THE P.A.C.T. ACT, WHICH MAKES ANIMAL ABUSE A FEDERAL CRIME, OR JUST DON’T GIVE A DAMN.

LOCAL COMMUNITIES MUST SPEAK UP AND DEMAND THE LAW BE ENFORCED!!!

  14. Florida. Worst state with the worst scumbags in the Union!

  15. John Booth says:

Throw him in jail for 5 to 10 might be a start. Better still do the planet a favour and get rid of the psychopath. All governments and judiciary are absolutely shite when it comes to taking animal abuse seriously.

  16. All murderers have excuses and this is a brewing psychopathic MURDERER–FLORIDA STATE JAIL THIS MURDERER AND LEVY HARSH PENALTY OF FINES–SO POTENTIAL WILL THINK TWICE BEFORE HURTING AN INNOCENT VOICELESS DOG/CAT/ANIMAL.

  17. Steven Coles says:

absolute vile scum piece of shit!!!!!
if there’s any justice out there someone will find this thing and give him the kicking of his life Hopefully leaving him wheelchair bound and drinking through a straw the rest of his miserable life
he’s no man that’s for sure!!!!

  18. This POS needs to be brought to justice and not just a slap on the wrist. The poor dogs did not deserve to be treated so cruelly. There should be an animal abuser registry and this murderer’s name should be on it. Doing time in a prison would be a good thing. If it had been my dog that was killed, he’d be dead, too. What a waste of oxygen!
