Puppy Sold for Profit After Being Starved and Infested With Parasites Deserves Justice

Target: Tenino Police Chief Robert Swain

Goal: Justice for a puppy who almost died due to poor care and starvation.

On the morning of July 5th, an Olympia family met an unknown woman in the parking lot of a local Petsmart to adopt two puppies. They were a part of the same litter, but while one was five pounds the other, smaller puppy weighed less than two pounds.

The family took the two puppies home; they named the bigger girl Pepper and the smaller boy River. At first, everything seemed great, but it soon became apparent that there was something wrong with River.

The smaller puppy was lethargic and could barely walk. He spent most of the first day sleeping; when he ate food, he threw it all back up, and by the evening, the family was so worried that they took the puppy to the emergency vet.

River was starving to death. He was severely malnourished and dehydrated, his belly was filled with worms and parasites, his white blood cell count was up, and he was severely anemic. If he hadn’t gotten to a vet, he likely would have died within the next 24 hours.

The family called the woman for days, trying to reach her with no luck. The puppy’s undernourishment was so severe that it was clear that the woman was very aware that she was selling them a sick and dying animal.

The unknown woman starved this puppy and then used him to make a profit. This abuse is morally unacceptable, and this puppy deserves justice. Please sign this petition demanding justice for River.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Chief Swain,

On July 5th, an Olympia family adopted two eight-week-old puppies from an unknown blonde woman driving a white SUV. One of the puppies appeared healthy while the other was significantly smaller and seemed to be lethargic.

The family ended up taking the ill puppy to the vet to find that he was severely malnourished, filled with worms and parasites, and had other significant medical issues. He was close to death due to this unidentified woman’s negligence.

The family spent hours trying to get a hold of the woman with no luck. The phone appeared to be a prepaid phone, and she never gave  her name.

This woman committed an act of animal abuse. This abused, starved puppy deserves justice. Please use your resources to find this woman and ensure that she never abuses a dog like this again.

Sincerely

Anyone who had a part in the starving of this poor animal needs to be locked in a tiny cage and starved….NO EXCEPTIONS. ANIMAL CRUELTY/KILLING must be severely punished (and enforced)..
