Justice for George Floyd, Killed By Excessive Police Force

Target: Jacob Frey, Mayor of Minneapolis

Goal: Bring charges against police officers responsible for death of unarmed black man in Minneapolis.

George Floyd was killed when a Minneapolis police officer reportedly placed his knee on Floyd’s neck for minutes on end, despite Floyd saying “Please, please, please, I can’t breathe. My stomach hurts. My neck hurts. Please, please. I can’t breathe.” The officer refused to get off of Floyd, age 46, apparently ignoring warnings and protests from many nearby witnesses. Floyd lost consciousness minutes later and died that evening in a nearby clinic.

It later emerged that officers arrested Floyd for a non-violent charge, and used radically excessive force. While four officers involved have been fired, and one has been arrested, they can’t be allowed to get away with a slap on the wrist. George Floyd’s death cannot be for nothing. Sign the petition below to demand that all of the officers involved in this incident are brought up on criminal charges to send a message that police cannot be allowed to kill someone for their skin color.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mayor Frey,

George Floyd’s death could have been avoided. Even as he lay pleading for air and while nearby witnesses demanded the police officer arresting him remove his knee from Floyd’s neck, there was a chance that Floyd may have lived. That chance has passed, and now yet another unarmed black man has been killed by police officers allegedly using excessive force. While four officers involved have been fired, and one has been arrested, it’s not enough: a clear signal must be sent that there are consequences to harming and killing unarmed human beings.

I demand that all of the officers responsible for Floyd’s death be charged with crimes for their roles, just as anyone else guilty of this violence would be.

Sincerely,

    Lives Matter!!

They got their damn justice the minute those officers were arrested and charged with murder.

Now, all those so-called protestors are nothing but thugs and criminals.

Justice has been served, these fools are dishonoring the memory of the man they want to obtain justice for.

To honor him now, they need to STOP their criminal acts, as Mr Floyd’s family has requested.

    • to quote you ” they got their damn justice….” who are you?
wondering where you get your news………….?

ONE officer was arrested. THREE TO GO. justice has NOT been served.
the peaceful protesters are honoring Mr. Floyd’s murder.

and the thugs should stop and go home.

      HELL YES!

  2. Would it come as a great surprise, to anyone, that the _thugs and criminals_ are actually the alt-right? Now, who would send these far-right persons into this type of skirmish, telling them to blend in, cause trouble, commit crimes and the peaceful marchers will be blamed for this disruption? It’s mystery to me!

I think it is important to realise that the small gangs are using cover of the Protests, then they break off and commit crimes. Not Protestors!! It is horrific and very sad as the time to Stop crimes by police against black people is NOW. George Floyd is one of a long list and police are rarely held accountable.

  4. All 4 of those so called officers need to be charged, not just the one with his knee of Mr. Floyd’s neck. The other 3 could have intervened but did nothing!!

    • Martha Mcclain says:

Yes! You are right. They were ALL there, witnessing what went on. There had to be a time when at least 1 of the officers there thought that maybe they should at least check to see if he was serious with his I can’t breathe pleas! They were ALL in the wrong. They all need to be to be locked up or get the death penalty.

  5. Michelle Stewart says:

George must be charged with 1st degree murder and never be allowed to be a cop or security guard ever again. The other 3 must never be allowed to be cops or security guards either. These 3 must be charged with 2nd degree murder. All 4 of them should be in prison for life. The other 3 did nothing to stop what was happening.

  6. Michelle Stewart says:

I’m sorry my previous post, I put George should be charged. I put the victim’s name by mistake. I meant to put the cop’s name that killed George.

  7. Patricia Wicker says:

ALL the Officers SHOULD BE CHARGED!!! THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS!!!

  8. THESE LOWLIFE MURDERING COPS MUST BE SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR THE DELIBERATE MURDER OF INNOCENT AND HELPLESS GEORGE FLOYD. IF IT WAS WHITE COP DELIBERATELY MURDERED AND A BLACK COP DID THE SAME TO HIM THIS NEGRO COP WOULD HAVE BEEN BROUGHT TO JUSTICE AND JAILED FOR LIFE OR SENTENCED TO DEATH.
THESE VILE AND EVIL WHITE COPS MUST BE PUT TO DEATH. HOW MANY OTHER INNOCENT BLACK PEOPLE HAVE BEEN DELIBERATELY MURDERED AND THESE LOWLIFE BASTARD COPS GOT AWAY WITH IT.
TOO MANY INNOCENT BLACK PEOPLE ARE BEING DELIBERATELY MURDERED BY THESE LOWLIFE WHITE BASTARD COPS.

They were all totally in the wrong! Smug, power crazed, racist bullies! Shocking! Utterly disgraceful! When the hell are they going to learn!

So one police officer committed the crime and other three watched without doing noting, while a man dies from asphyxiation. Meanwhile what supposed to be a demonstration to ask for justice, turns into a riot where businesses are set on fire, ransacked and private property is destroyed. Furthermore a police officer gets shot on the head while dispersing a crowd and a trucker get’s attacked and pulled out of the truck and nearly killed. I must say, I did sign the petition because of what it stands for. Justice must be served for the needless killing of a man what already under police custody. But all the other byproduct that comes with it in the form of a riot and destruction is a display of hate and lowlife scum individuals. Is that the image and statement true justice seeking demonstrators what to leave behind. So here we are asking for justice against a violation of human rights by violating other’s rights to property and life itself? Many out there need to think twice before continuing and stop asking to make something right by doing wrong. And where are the community leaders a demonstration of this kind and multitude of people need to have their leaders lead. Leaders need to be at the head not at the tail, watching the outcome on TV and popping out every so often to say something. The word leader means to lead, is your calling at this time. So, by now the looting and rioting is done, it is time for leaders to work with the law to setup a public court hearing to legally process these individuals for their crime. Just the way it is done when a black man kills a white man. There are things many of us will like to know also. Mr. Floyd and the police officer worked par time in a club, they knew each other. Was there any previous dispute between the two. Was this an a hateful arrest crime or was it a premeditated murder using the arrest as a chance to do such? Why did the other police officers stood by and do nothing? All these questions are not going to be answered by rioting, looting and plain creating a disliked image to a community of people where most are hardworking, law abiding citizens just like everyone else. I think is time to rest the hate in equal parts of the coin. Like Michael Jackson said in a song: “One bad apple don’t spoil the whole bunch”

  11. All 4 should get lethal injection!

  12. Jose I agree very well said
