Don’t Expand Defense Budget During Pandemic Recession

Target: Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House

Goal: Stop any increase in defense budget during COVID-19 pandemic recession.

Congressional Republicans are routinely making excuses on why the government can’t put more money in the hands of working class people, and yet are now pushing for an increase in defense spending in the middle of a pandemic-induced recession. The defense budget is already far larger than it should be, and this is a foolish waste of resources when the country struggles to find its feet during COVID-19.

The only way to stop this is to make sure that Congress understands that the country needs more money to fight the pandemic and to keep Americans fed and sheltered, not to expand an already bloated military budget. Sign our petition and tell Nancy Pelosi to not accept any bill that adds to defense spending.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Speaker Pelosi,

Congress cannot be allowed to expand the defense budget. Spending more money on an already bloated military will only create more financial issues for the country while it is in the middle of a recession caused by Trump’s mishandling of COVID-19.

Every extra dollar coming out of Congress needs to go to help Americans stay afloat during these uncertain times. Adding more missiles to an arsenal already big enough to destroy the world a thousand times over is not a good use of our tax dollars. Don’t allow any bill to pass that increases the defense budget by even one dollar.

Sincerely,

[ Your Name Here ]
