Don’t Use Much-Needed COVID-19 Funding to Fight Universal Healthcare

Doctors - Fshoq

Target: Rick Pollack, CEO of the American Hospital Association

Goal: Stop national medical organization from wasting precious funds to support lobbying group that opposes universal healthcare.

Medical workers across the country are protesting the American Hospital Association’s (AHA) support of a lobbying group that has spent millions trying to defeat universal healthcare. In the midst of a pandemic that has exposed the inadequacy of our healthcare system, the AHA is spending precious funds to back the fight against progress.

Many American hospitals, particularly those that serve low-income communities, are already struggling to fund the monumental fight against COVID-19. Instead of funneling resources to the medical workers that need it most — a large portion of whom support universal healthcare —the AHA has chosen to waste much-needed money on regressive political efforts. Sign below to urge the AHA heed the demands of its workers and divest from this lobbying group.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Pollack,

While hospitals across the country struggle to keep up with COVID-19, you are using member funds to support the Partnership for America’s Health Care Future (PAHCF), which opposes universal healthcare — an extremely popular platform supported by 70% of Americans and the National Union of Healthcare Workers.

This is a dangerous and irresponsible misuse of funds during a time when the healthcare system is stretched to its limits. I urge you to meet the demands of your own workers and stop wasting precious resources to fund the anti-progress PAHCF.

Sincerely,
